Padres host Rockies and Giants July 8-14

Homestand highlighted by first Taco Tuesday event and PCL Retro Night with Fedora giveaway

The Padres return home Monday for the final homestand before the MLB All-Star Break, featuring three games against the Colorado Rockies, followed by a weekend series against the San Francisco Giants. Highlights of the homestand include the launch of the new Summer Fun promotional lineup, including the first Taco Tuesday of the season, as well as PCL Retro Night, featuring a Padres fedora giveaway and postgame fireworks.

Home action begins tonight, with a 7:10 p.m. start against the Rockies. San Diego Chargers player Michael Harris will throw the Ceremonial First Pitch.

Tuesday marks the first Taco Tuesday of the summer, featuring $1 pollo asado street tacos sold at 12 locations around the ballpark, including all levels and Park at the Park. There is a 10 taco per person maximum. Park Passes for Taco Tuesdays are priced at $5.

In addition Tuesday is Padres Social Media Night. Approximately 80 fans who took advantage of a Twitter offer for #PadresSocial will participate in the night's events, including a pre-game forum with Padres executives, as well as in-game visits by Padres representatives and media. The fans will interact and watch the game together from Petco Park's newest group seating space, the Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 Deck. Padres partner and San Diego institution Phil's BBQ will provide food for the group.

Tuesday is also the Ninth Annual Dog Days of Summer event, presented by Petco, when hundreds of dogs and their owners will be hosted by Petco out at Park at the Park. Dogs will also have the opportunity to participate in a pre-game "tail" gate party, photo booths and an on-field pet parade around the warning track. Costumes are encouraged, and prizes will be awarded to costumed dogs in a variety of categories. Staying true to Petco's "Think Adoption First" philosophy, local pet adoption partners will be on site to raise awareness for pet adoption and offer participants the chance to save a life by giving a shelter pet a forever home. In addition, Diane Gilbert, Board President for the San Diego Humane Society will throw the Ceremonial First Pitch alongside Chance, the Humane Society's mascot. Once the game has commenced, dogs and their parents are invited to cheer on the Padres from the Park at the Park. The application period for the Dog Days of Summer has closed. No walk-ups will be accepted.

Prior to Wednesday's series finale against the Rockies, the Padres and Sycuan will honor the Padres Foundation's featured homestand charity partner, Navy Special Warfare Family Foundation, in a special pregame ceremony. The Padres Foundation, in partnership with Sycuan, will present the NSWF Foundation with a $5,000 donation.

Also Wednesday, La Costa Canyon High School alum and New Orleans Saints rookie receiver Kenny Stills will throw the Ceremonial First Pitch.

Thursday marks College Night, featuring special ticket discounts for college students with a valid student ID ($10 in Right Field Upper Reserved College Night section). A DJ from Channel 93.3 will be spinning at the Budweiser Patio in Right Field from 6:00 p.m. until the conclusion of the game. Friday is Retro Night, when the team will wear Pacific Coast League throwback jerseys. The first 25,000 fans in attendance on Friday will receive a Padres fedora.

Following Friday's game, fans are invited to stay for a PCL era-themed fireworks show. Also following Friday's game, more than 700 local boy scouts will watch a movie on the Friarvision screen and sleep over on the Padres outfield as part of the annual Boy Scout campout event.

Please note the special 7:10 p.m. start time for Saturday's game. The first 25,000 fans in attendance on Saturday will receive a Padres smartphone cover.

The homestand finale against the Giants Sunday marks U.S. Army Appreciation Day presented by USAA. A special pregame ceremony in honor of the U.S. Army will recognize soldiers from Fort Irwin. In addition, dozens of future soldiers will take the Oath of Enlistment during the pregame ceremony and Sgt. Jason Elliot from the La Mesa Army Recruiting Company will perform the National Anthem.

Sunday will mark the debut of KidsFest at Park at the Park, featuring bounce houses and other inflatables, games, face painters, balloon artists, and more kid-friendly activities. Visit www.padres.com/sunday for more information.

Prior to all Sunday home games, fans with tickets are invited to enjoy Breakfast at the Park. Special breakfast menu items will be offered for purchase at Park at the Park. In addition to seating at the Park at the Park, tables may be set up on the warning track, allowing fans to dine on the Petco Park field. Field seating will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, barring batting practice. Select gates will open to Season Ticket Holders with reservations at 10:00 a.m. Gates will open to the general public at 10:30 a.m.

From 11:30 a.m. to noon, two Padres players will sign autographs at the Park at the Park for Jr. Padres Sunday Signings. A Jr. Padres membership is required to participate in the signing event. Membership is free, and kids can sign up online or in-person on the day of the event.

Following Sunday's game, kids are invited to take part in a special Jr. Padres batting clinic, featuring instruction by Padres hitting coaches Phil Plantier and Alonzo Powell, and individual coaching by instructors from Baseball ASAP. Participants are invited to line up at the Beachers following the game.
