SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Jabari Blash's third homer in as many days capped a late rally, as the Padres stormed back with nine unanswered runs to beat the D-backs, 9-6, on Thursday.
Blash and Franchy Cordero each went 2-for-2 for the Padres, who scored four runs apiece in the seventh and eighth innings. The comeback negated Arizona's five-run second, highlighted by a two-run no-doubter off the bat of Oscar Hernandez. D-backs starter Archie Bradley bounced back nicely from a rough debut, tossing three scoreless frames, while striking out four. The 24-year-old right-hander allowed hits to the first two batters he faced. But he escaped the first-inning jam and wouldn't allow another runner to reach base.
"He threw the ball very, very well," D-backs manager Torey Lovullo said of Bradley. "He was aggressive with several pitches. He threw some key pitches in key moments to get back into counts. It was exactly what I know he had hoped for, and was exciting to watch from the side."
For the Friars, Travis Jankowski went 2-for-3, while Hunter Renfroe drove in a run and took one away as well. He singled home Jankowski in the sixth, an inning after cutting down Oswaldo Arcia at the plate with a perfect strike from right field.

In his Cactus League debut, left-hander Christian Friedrich worked a clean first inning, before coming unraveled in the five-run second. Specifically, he struggled regaining command of his changeup, the pitch he threw to Hernandez.
"It's kind of dipping your toe in the pool a little bit, just getting ready for the speed," said Friedrich, who signed with the Padres a year ago tomorrow. "... As the game speeds up, you've got to slow it down, and it was evident today that it kind of sped up on me, and I let the previous pitch affect the next one." 
D-backs first baseman Paul Goldschmidt notched a pair of hits, bringing his batting average to .400 this spring.
New D-backs closer Fernando Rodney made his Cactus League debut with one strikeout in one inning. 
Padres Up Next: The Padres limited relievers Ryan Buchter, Brad Hand and Brandon Maurer early in camp. That bullpen trio finally debuts Friday night against the White Sox, potentially in three consecutive innings. Luis Perdomo will make his first start of the spring, looking to build on his impressive finish to the 2016 season. First pitch is slated for 5:40 p.m. PT.
D-backs Up Next:Zack Greinke is scheduled to make his Cactus League debut Friday against the Dodgers at Salt River Fields at 1:10 p.m. MST. Greinke has been brought along slower than the other starters this spring, but not because of any injury. Friday's start lines him up to start Opening Day against the Giants on April 2.
