Michael Gettys' power was on full display on Friday night, as the Padres' No. 11 prospect slugged a trio of solo home runs to pace Class A Advanced Lake Elsinore in an 8-7 win over San Jose.
Gettys connected on his first homer with two outs in the top of the first inning, depositing a 1-1 offering over the wall in center field to give the Storm an early lead. He would draw a walk in his next trip to the plate before resuming his power surge in the fifth inning with another shot to center field.

It marked a new single-game career high for the 21-year-old outfielder, who struck out in his final at-bat to finish 3-for-4 at the plate. It also was the first three-homer game by a Lake Elsinore since Colt Morton accomplished the feat on July 14, 2007.
Gettys' home runs on Friday were his first since May 15, and he now leads the Storm with seven home runs through 52 games. His average, meanwhile, climbed to .261 with the three-hit performance, Gettys' fourth of the season.
