OFs Yeison, Renfroe remain hot for Double-A San Antonio

Outfielders Yeison Asencio and Hunter Renfroe continued their hot hitting for Double-A San Antonio on Saturday night.

Asencio, 25, was 4-for-5 with a double and three RBIs in the 40-52 Missions 11-10 win at Midland. He is 9-for-20 over the last five games with two doubles and 12 RBIs to raise his batting average to .294 with 44 RBIs.

Renfroe, 23, the Padres' first-round pick (13th overall) in the 2013 Draft, was 3-for-5 with two runs scored. He is hitting .417 (15-for-36) over the last 10 games to raise his batting average to a season-high .271.

Left fielder Kyle Gaedele (.200) was 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs on Saturday. Shortstop Diego Goris (.265) was 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI and three runs scored. Third baseman Taylor Lindsey (.220) had a two-run homer in four at-bats with two errors.

Right-handed starter Casey Kelly (4.47 earned run average) allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks with three strikeouts in four innings.

Right-hander Stephen Kohlscheen (3-1, 2.52 ERA) allowed two hits with a strikeout in three scoreless innings. Michael Dimock (2.02) had a strikeout in a perfect eighth before Midland scored seven runs (five unearned) in the bottom of the ninth.

TRIPLE-A EL PASO (45-47): The Chihuahuas were rained out at Fresno and the game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Sunday.

HIGH SINGLE-A LAKE ELSINORE (37-55): MODESTO 5, Storm 3

Center fielder Auston Bousfield (.295) was 2-for-3 with a run scored and a walk. Catcher Miguel Del Castillo (.132) had his second homer in four at-bats. Starting right-hander Rafael De Paula (5-8, 5.19 ERA) allowed five runs (four earned) on 11 hits and three walks with two strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings. Righty Adys Portillo (8.44 ERA) struck out two in 1 1/3 perfect innings.

LOW SINGLE-A FORT WAYNE (46-45): DAYTON 9, TinCaps 2

Third baseman Luis Tejada (.276) was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Designated hitter Franmil Reyes (.244) was 2-for-3, while first baseman Trae Santos (.261) was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Righty Chris Huffman (3-6, 4.18 ERA) started and allowed six runs (three earned) on five hits and a walk with a strikeout in 3 2/3 innings. Righty T.J. Weir (4.25 ERA) allowed a run on two hits with two strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings.

SHORT-SEASON SINGLE-A TRI-CITY (16-14): Salem-Keizer 1, DUST DEVILS 0

First baseman Ty France from San Diego State (.256) had two of Tri-City's three hits in four at-bats. Right-hander Brett Kennedy (0-1, 1.76 ERA) started and allowed a run on three hits with five strikeouts over 2 2/3 innings. Lefty Griffin Russell (5.25 ERA) allowed two hits and a walk with three strikeouts over 2 1/3 scoreless innings. Lefty Elvin Liriano (1.06 ERA) allowed a hit with two strikeouts over two scoreless innings. Righty Wilson Santos (3.86 ERA) allowed two hits with two strikeouts over two scoreless innings.

ARIZONA ROOKIE PADRES (9-13): Rangers 6, PADRES 0

Right fielder Alan Garcia was 2-for-4 with a double and is 6-for-9 after his first two professional games. Right-hander Adrian De Horta (0-2, 8.83 ERA)started and allowed four runs on six hits and a walk with five strikeouts over five innings. Righty Braxton Lorenzini (4.50 ERA) allowed two runs on three hits and two walks over two innings, while righty Blake Rogers (3.81 ERA) allowed a hit with two strikeouts in his two scoreless innings.
