Padres recall RHP Brad Brach from Triple-A Tucson and option LHP Robbie Erlin to Tucson

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Padres today announced they have recalled right-handed pitcher Brad Brach from Triple-A Tucson and have optioned left-hander Robbie Erlin to the same Tucson club. Executive Vice President/General Manager Josh Byrnes made the announcement.

Brach, 27, is in his third stint with the Padres this season, having made his second consecutive Opening Day roster for San Diego this year. In 21 games total for San Diego so far this season, he is 1-0 with a 4.34 ERA (9 ER, 18.2 IP) with 19 strikeouts against nine walks. Over 15 relief appearances for Tucson, he has gone 3-1 with a 3.22 ERA (8 ER, 22.1 IP) with 27 strikeouts against eight walks.  

Erlin, 22, was recalled on June 26 for his third stint with the Padres this season. Over six games, four starts, for San Diego this year, the southpaw has gone 1-2 with a 7.15 ERA (18 ER, 22.2 IP) and 16 strikeouts against eight walks. He made his Major League debut for the Padres earlier this season on April 30 at Chicago-NL. Over 12 starts for Tucson this year, Erlin is 6-2 with a 5.25 ERA (34 ER, 58.1 IP) with 54 strikeouts against 22 walks.
