Padres recall RHP Nick Vincent from Triple-A Tucson and option RHP Ross Ohlendorf to Triple-A Tucson

SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Padres today announced they have recalled right-handed pitcher Nick Vincent from Triple-A Tucson and have optioned right-hander Ross Ohlendorf to the same Tucson club. Executive Vice President/General Manager Josh Byrnes made the announcement.

Vincent, 26, is making his fourth stint with the Padres this season. In his last 11 games with Tucson, since rejoining the Padres Triple-A affiliate after previously being optioned on July 22, he has posted a 2.61 ERA (3 ER/10.1 IP) with two saves and eight strikeouts against just three walks.  In seven relief outings for San Diego this year, the right-hander is 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA (4 ER/8.0 IP). In 32 games total this year between Double-A San Antonio and Triple-A Tucson, he has gone 2-1 with a 4.60 ERA (16 ER/31.1 IP) and 34 strikeouts against 11 walks.

Ohlendorf, 30, was signed by the Padres as a Major League free agent on June 4.  In 13 games, nine starts, for San Diego this year, he has gone 4-4 with a 7.58 ERA (41 ER/48.2 IP).  Over parts of six Major League seasons with the New York Yankees (2007-08), Pittsburgh Pirates (2008-11) and Padres (2012), he has gone 18-32 with a 5.08 ERA (249 ER/441.1 IP) in 108 games (73 starts).
