Padres Reinstate RHP Huston Street From 15-Day DL

SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Padres today announced they have reinstated right-handed pitcher Huston Street from the 15-day disabled list. Executive Vice President/General Manager Josh Byrnes made the announcement.

Street, 29, has gone 2-0 with 21 saves and a 0.75 ERA (3 ER/36.0 IP) in 37 appearances for the Padres this season. He was originally placed on the DL August 11 with a strained left calf. Street returns to the Padres with an active 21.1-inning scoreless streak, dating back to June 20. During that stretch of 22 scoreless outings, he has allowed just three hits and three walks while striking out 27.

Over parts of eight Major League seasons with the Oakland A’s (2005-08), Colorado Rockies (2009-11) and Padres (2012), Street has gone 32-21 with 199 saves and a 2.93 ERA (154 ER472.1 IP). His next save would make him one of 10 active players with 200 or more career saves.
