Padres to Host Giants, Dodgers and Cardinals for 11th Homestand of 2017 Season

The Padres return home from their 11th road trip of the season, a seven-day six game trip, for their 11th homestand of the 2017 season, featuring games against the San Francisco Giants, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the St. Louis Cardinals. Action begins tonight, with a 7:10 p.m. start against the Giants.

The Padres return home from their 11th road trip of the season, a seven-day six game trip, for their 11th homestand of the 2017 season, featuring games against the San Francisco Giants, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the St. Louis Cardinals. Action begins tonight, with a 7:10 p.m. start against the Giants.
 
The Padres will honor various local youth baseball and softball teams that excelled in their respective divisions during the 2017 season prior to Monday's game. Nine teams will be recognized, including: the Rancho Penasquitos Little League intermediate team, the Encinitas Little League 11's team, the Pony League San Diego Q-Jays, Carlsbad Youth Baseball and Tecolote Youth Baseball, the Bonita Valley Girls Softball 10U and 14U Gold Teams, the Junior League World Series participants and the Encinitas Little League Juniors All-Star Team.
 
Prior to Monday night's game, Padres infielder Cory Spangenberg will be honored by the Hall of Champions as their July Star of the Month during the pregame ceremonies.
 
San Diego Padres vs. San Francisco Giants - Tuesday, August 29 @ 7:10 p.m.
 
The Padres Baseball Camps Reunion takes place Tuesday to celebrate the series of summer camps the Padres offered which enrich the lives of children through instruction, character development and a unique Major League experience. Participants and coaches will take part in a warning track ceremony prior to Tuesday's game.
 
The Padres Estrellas program presented by Arco continues its partnership with local school districts and non-profits to support the effort to reduce high school dropout rates and improve health and fitness behaviors within the Hispanic youth population. Prior to Monday's game, three students from Encuentros de North County will be treated to tickets to the game and have the opportunity to watch batting practice from the field before taking a tour of the Jerry Coleman Broadcast Center.
 
Taco Tuesday presented by Cholula Hot Sauce takes place every Tuesday home game and features Petco Park's favorite local tacos at a special price. For only $2.50, fans can choose from a variety of taco options at Carnitas' Snack Shack, Wonderland Ocean Pub, Lucha Libre, Miguel's, Seaside Market, Rimel's and Brigantine.
 
San Diego Padres vs. San Francisco Giants - Wednesday, August 30 @ 6:10 p.m.
 
The seventh College Night of 2017 will take place Wednesday, with elements including:
-A DJ spinning at the Budweiser Patio in Right Field from 5:00 p.m. to the conclusion of the game.
-College students will receive a special ticket discount with a valid student ID (advance price of $10 in a Right Field Upper Reserved College Night section; prices increase day-of-game).
 
The third Friar Family Day at Petco Park takes place Wednesday, with elements including:
-A special ticket package with $15 tickets for kids (14 and younger) and $20 for adults. A hot dog and soda is included with each ticket.
-Access to inflatables and face painters at Park at the Park prior to Wednesday's game. The inflatables will close at dusk.
-Following Wednesday's game, kids 14 and under with the Friar Family Day ticket are invited to run the bases on the field. Kids and their families can begin lining up following the conclusion of the Park Blvd Gate Plaza.
-Fans can purchase tickets for Friar Family Day at the Petco Park box office or online here.

Party in the Park presented by Southwest Airlines will take place Friday. Elements include:
-The party begins at 4:30 p.m. with live entertainment and drink specials available for purchase for $5.
 
Friday is Star Wars Night at Petco Park, with elements including:
-As part of Party in the Park, fans can take photos with Star Wars characters and enjoy pregame drink specials in Park at the Park.
-Star Wars-themed in-game entertainment.

Friday is also Native American Night presented by Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation. Elements include:

The second Hedges Saxy Section will take place on Friday. On select nights, fans can cheer on Padres catcher Austin Hedges from his home-run-landing area in left field. Fans who purchase the Hedges Saxy Section tickets will receive an inflatable saxophone and themed sunglasses. Due to player scheduling, there is a chance Austin Hedges does not play on the designated Hedges Saxy Section dates. Nurse Appreciation Weekend presented by Sharp Mary Birch begins on Friday, a weekend-long celebration to recognize the hard work and dedication of all nurses and healthcare professionals as well as their friends and family. Fans attending games in September are encouraged to download the MLB.com Ballpark app and enable check-in offers for the chance to receive a special Fan Rewards Month scratcher card with a prize on each card. Fans will be treated to special offers, prizes, surprise experiences and seat upgrades throughout the month of September.

As part of the make-up game from Sunday, May 7, Saturday will serve as a Domingos Padres presented by T-Mobile celebrating Venezuelan culture. Elements include:

-Spanish broadcaster and former Padres catcher Carlos Hernandez, Padres Venezuelan players and representatives from Casa de Venezuela will participate in the pregame ceremony as part of the recognition.

Saturday is also Strike out Stroke Day as declared by the county of San Diego. Designed to promote awareness of the signs and symptoms of stroke and celebrate the stories of local stroke survivors, Strike out Stroke Day will feature representatives from local stroke centers and hospitals all around the ballpark, offering stroke prevention information and materials.
 
Thousands of little leaguers will participate in a Little League Parade on the warning track prior to Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader.
 
Please Note: Due to Saturday's doubleheader, all fans will be asked to leave Petco Park at the conclusion of the first game and may reenter when the gates open for the second game.

Sunday will serve as a Military Salute to the Veterans. Elements of the day include:
-Fifty veterans from Veterans Village of San Diego will line the baselines during the pregame ceremony.
-A representative from Veterans Village of San Diego will ring the Ceremonial Mission Bell.
-Padres relief pitcher Craig Stammen will be named a finalist for the 2017 Bob Feller Act of Valor Award.
-Staff Sergeant Sid Zimman, a 93-year-old veteran who was in Jerry Coleman's squadron VMBS-341 "Torrid Turtles," will throw the Ceremonial First Pitch.
-USMC Veteran Sergeant Rocio Sanchez will perform the National Anthem prior to Sunday's game and sing God Bless America during the 7th inning break.
-Nine USS Midway Museum docents will take the field to greet Padres starters at each position as part of "Military Take the Field."
 
KidsFest, Compadres Kids Sunday Signings and Kids Run the Bases activities include:
-KidsFest features bounce houses and other inflatables, games, face painters, balloon artists and more kid-friendly activities at Park at the Park beginning at 11:00 a.m.
-From 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m., two Padres players will sign autographs at the Park at the Park for Compadres Kids Sunday Signings. A Compadres Kids membership is required to participate. Membership is free, and kids can sign up online or in-person on the day of the event.
-Following Sunday's game, kids 14 and under are invited to run the bases on the field. Kids and their families can begin lining up following the conclusion of the eighth inning at the top of the ramp leading to the Sun Diego Beach on K Street. Compadres Kids members will receive front-of-the-line privileges by lining up at the Park Blvd Gate Plaza.
