Lynchburg RHP Michael Peoples, Lake County INF Bobby Bradley earn Minor League Players of the Month

The Cleveland Indians today announced Lynchburg RHP MICHAEL PEOPLES has been named the Indians Minor League Pitcher of the Month for August, while Lake County INF BOBBY BRADLEY has been named the Indians Minor League Player of the Month. The Indians Player of the Month award recognizes individual performances from within the Indians Player Development System and is announced at the conclusion of each month through the end of the Minor League season.

Peoples, 23, went 4-0 in the month of August, posting a 0.87 ERA (31.0IP, 25H, 8R/3ER, 2HR, 9BB, 26SO) and a .225 average against across five games and three starts. The right-hander made two relief appearances to start the month, tossing 6.2 innings on Aug. 6 (6.2IP, 5H, 2R/0ER, 1BB, 6SO) and 3.2 innings on Aug. 12 (3.2IP, 6H, 4R/1ER, 1HR, 2BB, 6SO). He made three starts to finish off the month of August, going 3-0 with a 0.87 ERA (2ER/20.2IP). The Weatherford, Texas native led all Single A Advanced pitchers in wins in the month of August (T1st, 4), and ranked among Cleveland organizational leaders in wins (T1st), ERA (1st), WHIP (T4th, 1.10), average against (4th) and strikeouts (10th).

Peoples was the Indians 14th round selection in the 2012 First-Year Player Draft out of Western Oklahoma State College. He has spent the whole season with Single A Advanced Lynchburg, going 11-3 with a 3.50 ERA (52ER/133.2IP). Since May 13, Peoples has gone 10-1 with a 2.37 ERA (31ER/117.2IP) across 20 outings.

Bradley, 19, hit .337 (35-for-104) with 6 doubles, one triple, 11 home runs and 38 RBI across 29 games played in August. He also drew 18 walks and scored 21 runs, posting an on-base percentage of .432 and a slugging percentage of .731. The Gulfport, Mississippi native led all Minor League players in August with 38 RBI. He finished among Midwest League-leaders in HR (1st), slugging percentage (1st), OPS (1st), hits (T2nd, 35), extra-base hits (2nd, 18), walks (3rd) and OBP (3rd).

Bradley was the Indians 3rd round selection in the 2014 First-Year Player Draft out of Harrison Central High School. He has spent the entire season at Single A Lake County, hitting .271 (108-for-399) with 92 RBI and 27 HR. Bradley leads the Midwest League in HR (1st, 27), RBI (1st, 92), slugging percentage (1st, .531) and OPS (1st, 891) this season.
