Philadelphia Phillies Minor Leaguer Watson Suspended

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that Philadelphia Phillies Minor League right-handed pitcher Shane Watson has received a 50-game suspension without pay following a second positive test for a drug of abuse in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

The suspension of Watson, who is currently on the roster of the Single-A Lakewood BlueClaws of the South Atlantic League, will be effective at the start of the 2015 SAL season.
