Pitcher - RHP, Drew Anderson, Williamsport… 2 starts… 2-0, 0.00 ERA (11.0 IP), 4 H, 4 BB, 8 SO… The 19-year-old Anderson was selected by the Phillies in the 21st round of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft and signed by Joey Davis.
Player - OF, Herlis Rodriguez, GCL Phillies… 6 G… Batted .423 (11-26), 5 R, 2 2B, HR, 7 RBI, 2 BB… Rodriguez was signed by Jesus Mendez as an amateur free agent on 1/29/11.
Lehigh Valley IronPigs - International League North Division…59-57, 4th place… 5-2 for the week… Lehigh Valley is now 6-4 in their last 10 contests after a 6-16 stretch from 7/2-25… LV finished their week with an overall record of 59-57, the first time the club has been 2 G over the .500 mark since the All-Star break on 7/14… 1B/DH Cody Overbeck batted .370 (10-27), 2 2B and belted his 17th HR of the season which currently ranks 3rd in the Phils Minor League system… 1B/DH Josh Fields batted .360 (9-25), 2 2B…INF/OF Pete Orr batted .423 (11-26), 2 2B, 3B… C Cameron Rupp batted .429 (6-14)…3B Cody Asche belted 2 HR in his only game this week at LV (earned promotion to Philadelphia)… This season at triple-A LV Asche hit .295, 15 HR, 68 RBI in 104 G… 3B Tyler Henson was promoted from Reading (AA) and hit .368 (7-19), 4 HR… OF Leandro Castro, INF Freddy Galvis & OF Tyson Gillies each hit HR this week… RHP Tyler Cloyd made 2 starts going 2-0 with a 1.29 ERA (2 ER, 14.0 IP), 2 BB, 10 SO… RHP David Buchanan was promoted from REA and picked up the W in his triple-A debut (7 IP, 2 ER, BB, 4 SO)… LHP Greg Smith picked up the W in his only start going 7.1 innings allowing 1 ER… Smith is 6-1 with a 1.94 ERA for LV this season… LHP Cesar Jimenez made 3 scoreless appearances, allowed 0 H, and picked up 2 SV before earning a promotion to the big league club today… RHP Zach Miner made 1 start before his promotion to Philadelphia (5.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R)
Reading Fightin Phils - Eastern League Eastern Division…48-65, 6th place… 2-5 for the week… OF Kelly Dugan batted .296 (8-27), 2B, HR… Dugan is batting .333 (23-69) over his last 19 games at double-A... On the season Dugan has set a career-high with 14 HR between both levels (4 HR at REA & 10 HR and Clearwater (A))… OF Zach Collier had 4 H on Sunday and batted .308 this week… SS Edgar Duran batted .316 (6-19), 2B, HR… 3B Maikel Franco belted his 24th HR of the season… OF Anthony Hewitt hit 3 HR and now has 15 long balls on the season… C Sebastian Valle hit his 12th HR of the year… RHP Seth Rosin made 1 start, going 5.0 innings, 3 H, 1 R, 7 SO…LHP Mario Hollands picked up the W in his only start going 6.0 innings, 1 R, 4 SO… RHP Mike Nesseth picked up his 7 th SV of the season.
Clearwater Threshers - Florida State League North Division…First Half - 35-33, 4th place… Second Half - 19-22, 4th place… 3-4 for the week… 1B/3B Harold Martinez batted .360 (9-25), 2B, 5 RBI… OF Jiwan James batted .320 (8-25), 2B, 2 SB… OF Aaron Altherr hit his 31st double this season… Altherr leads the FSL and organization in two base hits… Altherr on the year has 10 HR, 61 RBI, 18 SB to accompany his 31 doubles… C Logan Moore batted .357, 2 2B, HR… RHP Severino Gonzalez made 1 start, going 6.0 innings allowing 1 ER with 6 SO… Gonzalez has a combined 1.86 ERA (15 ER, 72.2 IP) this season between Lakewood and CLR… In 20 G Gonzalez has struck out 85 to only 14 BB… RHP Luis Paulino threw 4.1 shutout innings in his only start this week… LHP Hoby Milner picked up a win in two starts going 10.0 innings allowing 2 ER (1.80 ERA)… RHP Ken Giles made 3 scoreless appearances allowing just 1 H as he picked up 1 SV this week… RHP Ryan O'Sullivan allowed just 1 R in 5.0 relief innings… 18th round selection RHP Dan Child was promoted from GCL to CLR and made 3 scoreless appearances totaling 2.2 IP.
Lakewood BlueClaws - South Atlantic League North Division - First Half-26-41, 7th place… Second Half - 18-25, 5th place… 2-5 for the week… Lakewood struggled as a team with the bats this week as they batted .209 (49-234) while averaging only 3 runs per game (21 R, 7 G)… While the club struggled to put runs on the board there were a few bright spots… 1B Art Charles batted .385 (10-26), 3 2B, 4 RBI… Charles has hit safely in 11 of his last 12 games and is batting .375 (18-48) during that span… 2B Allejandro Villalobos batted .370 (10-27), 2B, 3B… Villalobos had a stretch last week where he hit safely in 7 consecutive at bats… C Chace Numata & OF's Larry Greene & Brian Pointer all hit HR this week… RHP Nic Hanson made 1 start, allowing 2 ER in 8.0 innings… In 10 starts this year for LWD Hanson posted a 1.64 ERA (11 ER, 60.1 IP), and for his efforts was rewarded with a promotion to CLR on 8/4… RHP Miguel Nunez made 1 start, going 6.0 innings, 3 H, 1, 0 ER, 5 SO… 10th round selection RHP Jon Prosinski picked up his first win as a BlueClaw. In 2 starts this week Prosinski allowed 3 ER with only 1 BB and 8 SO… RHP Devi Francisco picked up his 7th SV of the season.
Williamsport CrossCutters - New York Penn League Pinckney Division - 24-22, 3rd place… 4-3 for the week… 3B Zach Green belted 3 HR and added 8 RBI. Green leads the NYP League in in HR (8) and 2B (16). He ranks 2nd in total bases (85) and 5th in RBI (28)… OF Sam Hiciano belted 3 HR this week… OF Dylan Cozens added a HR 2 2B and a SB this week… On the season Cozens has 5 HR, 13 2B and 8 SB… OF Gustavo Martinez hit .286 with 5 SB giving him 13 SB on the year… RHP Drew Anderson earned wins in both of his starts going 11.0 innings 4 H, 0 R, 8 SO… Anderson has a 2.24 ERA in 10 starts this season for Williamsport… RHP Tyler Buckley picked up a SV in 2 appearances totaling 3.0 innings, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 6 SO. Buckley is sporting a 0.93 ERA this season at WIL where opposing hitters are hitting only .113 against him… RHP Kelvi Rojas picked up a SV as he appeared in 2 G, going 3.0 innings, 1 H, 0 R, 3 SO… Rojas has a 1.06 ERA on the season… RHP Shane Martin backed up his Pitcher of the Week honors with a solid start his next trip to the hill going 5.0 innings, 2 H, 1 R and picking up the W… RHP Lee Ridenhour tossed 2.1 innings of scoreless relief with 4 SO and 0 BB and for his efforts, earned a promotion to LWD… RHP Mark Meadors had 3 SO, only allowing 1 H in 3.0 scoreless innings out of the pen.
Gulf Coast League Phillies - 15-20, 4th place… 4-2 for the week… 1st round selection SS J.P. Crawford batted .348 (8-23), 3 2B, 3B, 4 SB… In his first 26 G as a professional, Crawford hit .367 with 6 2B, 3 3B and 10 SB… As of print, in his last 10 G Crawford has 14 H, 10 BB and a .412 AVG/.545 OBP/.676 SLG% slash line… 1B Wilmer Oberto batted .350 (7-20), 2B, 3B. Oberto is batting .330 and leads the league with 31 RBI this season… OF Jose Pujols batted .353 (6-17), 2B, HR… 3B Jan Hernandez belted his 2nd HR of the season… C Delvi Grullon hit .286 for the week with 2 2B… RHP Ricky Bielski tossed 3.0 scoreless innings while recording his 2nd SV of the season… Bielski has yet to allow an ER this year in 16.0 IP… RHP Mark Leiter pitched 5.1 innings in relief, allowing 1 ER, 0 BB with 4 SO… Leiter has a 1.80 ERA with 25 SO in 20.0 IP this season… RHP Alejandro Arteaga picked up the W in his only start going 5.0 innings, 1 R, BB, 5 SO.
