Phillies Minor League Review: April 23-29

Players of the Week
Player - C Henri Lartigue, Clearwater… The 23-year-old slashed .474/.524/.842 (9-19) with three extra-base hits, four RBI and three runs scored in five games. He hit safely in each of his five contests, including a season-high tying three hits on April 27. Lartigue, who owns a .982 OPS this season, was selected by the Phillies in the seventh round of the June 2016 draft.
 
Pitcher - LHP Bailey Falter, Clearwater… Falter, 21, went 2-0 with a 1.29 ERA (2 ER, 14.0 IP) and 13 strikeouts in his two starts last week. He surrendered just six hits and one walk combined. In his outing on April 29, he yielded two hits over 7.0 scoreless innings. Falter, who was also named the Florida State League Pitcher of the Week, was selected by the Phillies in the fifth round of the June 2015 draft.
 
Lehigh Valley IronPigs - International League North Division… 11-11, 3rd place… The IronPigs dropped two of three at Norfolk to begin their week, but they swept Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in three games to end the week, including consecutive shutouts in a doubleheader on April 29.
Top hitting performers - OF led the club in multiple offensive categories, including batting average (.400), OPS (1.171) and RBI (7) in five games. He added two steals to his league-leading nine stolen bases… 3B Mitch Walding batted .333 (6-18) with three doubles, one home run, four RBI, three walks, four runs scored and a 1.095 OPS over six games. He is first in the International League with 17 runs scored… OF went 5-for-18 (.278) with two doubles, two RBI and three walks.
Top pitching performers - RHP earned a win in his only start, tossing 5.2 scoreless innings with three strikeouts. He owns a 1.40 ERA (3 ER, 19.1 IP) and has 25 strikeouts in four starts this season… RHP did not allow a hit over a 2.0-inning relief appearance in which he earned a victory, walking one with three strikeouts in his debut with Lehigh Valley. He posted a 2.08 ERA (3 ER, 13.0 IP) with 18 strikeouts and held opponents to a .178 batting average at double-A Reading this season… LHP Austin Davis worked 4.0 scoreless innings of relief (three games), surrendering one hit and two walks, while striking out six… LHP Cole Irvin got a win after logging a quality start with 6.0 scoreless innings.
Reading Fightin Phils - Eastern League Eastern Division… 8-13, 5th place… Reading won its series against Akron, taking two of three to start the week. The Fightins' entire series at Portland at the end of the week was postponed due to rain.
Top hitting performers OF Jan Hernandez hit .500 (6-12) with one double, one RBI and four runs scored in three games. His .327 batting average ranks eighth in the Eastern League this season… INF Malquin Canelo went 3-for-10 (.300) with one home run, one RBI, three walks and three runs scored over three contests.
Top pitching performers - RHP Trevor Bettencourt posted two scoreless relief appearances (3.0 IP) and registered three strikeouts… RHP Seth McGarry scattered one hit over 2.0 scoreless innings, while striking out three in his lone relief outing… LHP Tyler Gilbert retired all nine batters he faced in his only relief appearance (3.0 IP), while recording two strikeouts on his way to a win.
Clearwater Threshers - Florida State League North Division… 9-15, 5th place… The Threshers swept a three-game series with Fort Myers to begin their week and followed with a series split in a four-game set with Dunedin. Clearwater allowed only 11 runs in their five wins (2.2 runs per game), including a 1-0 shutout victory to end the week and month of April.
Top hitting performers - C Henri Lartigue, the Phillies Minor League Player of the Week, homered twice, batting .474 (9-19) with a 1.366 OPS and hitting safely in all five games, including three multi-hit efforts… 1B Darick Hall went 10-for-29 (.345) with two doubles, two home runs, five RBI, seven runs scored, a walk and a stolen base in seven games. He leads the Florida State League with eight home runs… OF Austin Listi doubled, tripled, homered, walked and scored five runs in seven games. He owns the third-best batting average (.365) in the Florida State League this season… OF Adam Haseley batted .346 (9-26), beginning his week with four straight multi-hit games. He drove in three runs and scored three more.
Top pitching performers - LHP Bailey Falter, the Phillies Minor League Pitcher of the Week, combined to allow just two runs on six hits and a walk in 14.0 innings over two starts. The Florida State League Pitcher of the Week tossed 7.0 innings in each start and recorded 13 strikeouts total, earning a win in both his outings… In his lone start of the week in which he earned a win, RHP Sixto Sanchez threw 7.0 innings and allowed one run on four hits with just one walk… LHP Aaron Brown did not allow a run in his three relief appearances (4.0 IP), striking out six and earning a save in his lone opportunity… LHP McKenzie Mills allowed one earned run in his only start of the week, striking out five batters in 4.0 innings.
Lakewood BlueClaws - South Atlantic League Northern Division… 14-10, T-3rd place Lakewood won five of seven games last week, winning each series over Hagerstown and Kannapolis. Those five wins (three shutouts) helped the BlueClaws to an 8-3 record over the last 11 games and a high-water mark of four games over .500 to finish the month.
Top hitting performers -  SS Nick Maton doubled three times and scored three runs in his six games, going 6-for-22 (.273)… C Colby Fitch doubled, homered, walked three times and drove in a pair of runs over five games.
Top pitching performers - RHP Spencer Howard, the South Atlantic League Pitcher of the Week, made one start, surrendering only two hits in 6.0 scoreless innings, striking out seven batters while walking only one. He has 29 strikeouts to just two walks in 2018… LHP Kyle Dohy struck out seven in 5.0 innings of relief (three games) and earned a save in his only opportunity. He has not allowed an earned run in his nine relief appearances this season… LHP David Parkinson made two starts last week, allowing just one earned run in 7.1 innings combined. He struck out seven batters and now has 21 strikeouts in 17.1 innings this season… RHP Ramon Rosso tossed 6.0 scoreless innings in his only start of the week, striking out six. He has allowed one earned run or none in all four of his starts this year.
