Players of the Week
Player - INF Zach Green, Reading… The 24-year-old posted a .417/.517/1.250 slash line, going 10-for-24 with three doubles, one triple, five home runs, 13 RBI and eight runs scored in seven games. He was also named Eastern League Player of the Week. Green has homered in four straight games (since June 21) and has slugged five homers over his last six games. Additionally, he has collected at least one RBI in seven consecutive games. The California native was selected by the Phillies in the third round of the June 2012 draft.
Pitcher - LHP , Reading… Suarez, 22, allowed just one run over 14.0 innings across two starts, earning the win in both his outings. The Eastern League Pitcher of the Week logged his first complete game (7.0 IP) of the season on June 19 at Portland. Suarez has posted a 1.91 ERA (14 ER, 66.0 IP) over his last 10 starts. A native of Venezuela, he was signed by the Phillies as an amateur free agent on April 1, 2012.
Lehigh Valley IronPigs - International League North Division… 43-31, 1st place… The IronPigs dropped two of three at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to begin the week, losing both games by two runs. They finished their road trip by winning two games at Buffalo in a rain-shortened series.
 
Top hitting performers - OF batted .368 (7-19) with two doubles, one home run, five runs scored, one stolen base and posted a 1.032 OPS in four games… 1B Joey Meneses went 7-for-20 (.350) with a double, home run, two RBI and three walks over five contests. He entered play today tied for the International League lead with 130 total bases this season… 1B/C Matt McBride doubled three times and scored four runs, while batting .375 (6-16) in four games.
 
Top pitching performers - RHP allowed two unearned runs on three hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out six in his only start… LHP Brandon Leibrandt earned a win in both of his relief appearances, combining to toss 5.0 scoreless innings with three strikeouts. He owns a 0.84 WHIP and 1.13 ERA in 17 games (6 starts) this season.
 
Reading Fightin Phils - Eastern League Eastern Division… 33-41, 5th place… Reading won both of its series last week, sweeping a four-game set at Portland before taking two of three at New Hampshire. They outscored Portland, 34-10, in their four-game series. Additionally, the Fightin Phils lead the Eastern League with 75 home runs in 2018.
 
Top hitting performers INF Zach Green, the Phillies Minor League Player of the Week, led the club in a number of offensive categories, including extra-base hits (9), total bases (30), doubles (3), triples (1), home runs (5) and OPS (1.767)… 1B Darick Hall batted .429 (12-28) with two doubles, two home runs, 15 RBI, eight runs scored and posted a 1.163 OPS in seven games. He has driven in at least one run in eight of his last nine games, totaling 19 RBI in that span (since June 16)… OF Jiandido Tromp doubled, homered, drove in three runs and scored nine runs, while going 9-for-26 (.346) in six contests.
 
Top pitching performers - LHP Ranger Suarez, the Phillies Minor League Pitcher of the Week, went 2-0 with a 0.64 ERA (1 ER, 14.0 IP) in two starts… LHP JoJo Romero notched a quality start in his only outing, allowing one run over 7.0 innings with six strikeouts… LHP Tyler Gilbert combined to toss 4.0 scoreless innings of relief over two appearances, while striking out three and converting his lone save opportunity.
 
Clearwater Threshers - Florida State League North Division… 4-0, 1st place, 36-36 overall… The Threshers lost two of three at Bradenton to begin the week, then started their season's second half with a four-game sweep over Dunedin.
 
Top hitting performers - 3B/OF Luke Williams, the Florida State League Player of the Week, batted .429 (12-28) with six extra-base hits (2B, 3B and 4 HR), 11 RBI, seven runs scored and posted a 1.393 OPS over seven games. Six of his seven home runs this season have come since June 9… C Henri Lartigue posted a .429/.538/.571 slash line, going 9-for-21 with a home run, five RBI, six runs scored and five walks. He collected walk-off hits in consecutive games (June 23-24), including a walk-off homer in yesterday's game vs Dunedin… OF Grenny Cumana doubled twice, homered once and drove in three runs, while batting .393 (11-28)… OF Jose Pujols went 8-for-24 (.333) with a double, home run and four walks in seven games.
 
Top pitching performers - RHP Adonis Medina recorded his first double-digit strikeout performance of the season on June 19 at Bradenton, fanning 10 batters over 6.0 innings, while allowing just one run… LHP McKenzie Mills combined to strike out 13 hitters across two starts (9.0 IP) and allowed only one run… LHP Jakob Hernandez worked 5.0 scoreless innings and struck out eight without yielding a walk in three relief appearances… LHP Bailey Falter earned a win in his lone start, allowing one run and no walks with nine strikeouts in 5.0 innings.
 
Lakewood BlueClaws - South Atlantic League Northern Division… 2-1, T-3rd place, 43-29 overall… Lakewood opened its second half with a series win at Columbia (2-1). The BlueClaws blanked Columbia on June 23, adding to their league-leading 16 shutouts this season. Yesterday's game at West Virginia was postponed due to inclement weather.
 
Top hitting performers - C Rodolfo Duran collected two doubles, one triple, one home run, three RBI and three walks in three games. He has 10 extra-base hits (5 2B, 3B and 4 HR) with a 1.075 OPS in 15 games this month… 1B Quincy Nieporte batted .538 (7-13) with two doubles, one triple and two RBI… INF/OF Jake Scheiner went 4-for-10 (.400) with a double, two RBI and three runs scored.
 
Top pitching performers - LHP Damon Jones did not allow a run over 6.0 innings in his only start, while earning a win. It was his fourth scoreless start of at least 6.0 innings this season… LHP Kyle Young tossed a quality start, allowing one run with five strikeouts over 6.0 innings.

cutters
 - New York-Penn League Pinckney Division… 6-3, 2nd place… Williamsport went 5-1 last week, which included a three-game sweep over Auburn from June 18-20. The Crosscutters shut out Auburn in the final two games of that series.

 
Top hitting performers - OF Matt Vierling led the club with 14 hits, batting .519 (14-27) with a double, triple, four RBI, six runs scored and one stolen base in six games. Vierling has hit safely in each of his first seven professional games, including four straight multi-hit efforts… 1B Edwin Rodriguez posted a .538/.571/1.000 slash line, going 7-for-13 with three doubles, one home run and five RBI… INF Seth Lancaster batted .316 (6-19) with two doubles, one triple and two RBI… SS Jonathan Guzman went 6-for-18 (.333) with two RBI, four runs scored and one stolen base.
 
Top pitching performers - Williamsport starting pitchers combined to not allow an earned run in 31.1 innings, while striking out 30: RHP Gustavo Armas (7.0 IP, 7 SO), RHP Juan Escorcia (5.0 IP, 7 SO), LHP Jhordany Mezquita (5.0 IP, 6 SO), LHP Ethan Lindow (5.0 IP, 5 SO), LHP Manuel Silva (4.1 IP, 4 SO) and RHP Francisco Morales (5.0 IP, 1 SO).
 
Gulf Coast League Phillies East - Gulf Coast League Northeast Division… 2-3, T-2nd place.
 
Top hitting performers - OF Luke Miller batted .500 (7-14) with a home run, four RBI, three runs scored and two walks in four games. He slugged his first professional home run on June 22… C Juan Aparicio doubled, homered and scored three runs, while batting .455 (5-11)… C Carlos Oropeza hit .600 (6-10) with two doubles and three RBI.
 
Top pitching performers - RHP Carlos Francisco tossed 5.0 scoreless innings with six strikeouts in his first start of the season… RHP Bailey Cummings struck out five over two shutout relief appearances (5.0 IP).
 
Gulf Coast League Phillies West - Gulf Coast League Northwest Division… 1-3, 5th place.
 
Top hitting performers - 3B Alec Bohm batted .500 (5-10) with two RBI, two runs scored, one walk and a stolen base in his first three professional games. He was recently promoted to Williamsport… OF Yerwin Trejo went 6-for-16 (.375) with two RBI and four runs scored… INF Matt Kroon doubled, walked twice and batted .571 (4-7)… 3B D.J. Stewart doubled, drove in two runs and walked twice, going 4-for-9 (.444) in four games.
 
Top pitching performers - RHP Eudiver Avendano tossed 6.0 no-hit innings with seven strikeouts in his only start… RHP Ben Brown stuck out five batters over 5.0 scoreless innings in his lone start.
