Halladay begins rehab program in Florida

MIAMI -- Phillies right-hander Roy Halladay reported Monday to Bright House Field in Clearwater, Fla., to begin a rehab program following right shoulder surgery.

Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said Halladay feels like he has pretty good range of motion.

"I talked to him [Tuesday]," Amaro said. "He's pretty positive."

If everything goes well, Halladay could pitch again for the Phillies as early as late August.

Amaro also said left-hander John Lannan, who is on the disabled list with an injured left knee, is scheduled to throw to hitters next Wednesday in Clearwater. Amaro said Lannan "is doing very well. He feels good."

Right-hander Carlos Zambrano is scheduled to throw in an extended spring game Thursday in Clearwater.
