Phillies Re-Sign Blanco

The Phillies have re-signed infielder Andrés Blanco to a one-year contract, Vice President & General Manager Matt Klentak announced today.
Blanco, 32, appeared in 90 games for the Phillies this past season and hit .253 with 15 doubles, four home runs and 21 RBI. He made 36 starts: 15 at third base, 13 at second base, seven at shortstop and one at first base while also making one appearance in left field. Over the past two years (2015-16), Blanco led the team with 15 pinch hits and seven pinch doubles. 
The 2017 season will be Blanco's sixth with the Phillies organization, having originally signed with the club in March of 2012.
To make room for Blanco on the 40-man roster, left-handed pitcher David Rollins was designated for assignment.
