White Sox could silence Red Sox

Welcome to DraftKings fantasy baseball, the Official Daily Fantasy Game of Major League Baseball.

The players listed below could provide difference-making stats for DraftKings participants on Wednesday.

Jhonny Peralta (Cardinals): With 16 homers and 56 RBIs across 464 at-bats, the shortstop has been among the most powerful players at his premium position this season. Peralta could drive in multiple runs when he puts his lifetime .797 OPS against left-handers (.745 vs. righties) on the line against D-backs southpaw Patrick Corbin (4.09 ERA, 1.32 WHIP in 2015) at hitter-friendly Chase Field.

:: Fred Zinkie's Daily Picks ::

Ryan Howard (Phillies): The first baseman -- who owns a lifetime .285/.375/.569 slash line against right-handers -- has compiled 17 homers across 317 at-bats against righties this season. Howard could rip a round-tripper or drive in multiple runs at his hitter-friendly home park when he faces Mets righty Bartolo Colon (4.90 ERA, 1.30 WHIP in 2015).

Odubel Herrera (Phillies) Hitting .354 with 20 runs scored and five steals across his past 104 plate appearances since July 26, the outfielder has been a cost-effective option in recent DraftKings contests. From his premium lineup spot, Herrera could stay hot when he bats at his hitter-friendly home park against Colon (career 1.31 WHIP).

Adeiny Hechavarria (Marlins): The shortstop could be an economical option at a premium position when he brings his career .709 OPS against left-handers (.613 vs. righties) into a matchup with Pirates southpaw Jeff Locke (career 4.56 ERA, 1.44 WHIP). Hechavarria may be part of a productive lineup, as the Marlins sit seventh in baseball with a .745 OPS vs. lefties.

Jonny Gomes (Braves): Hitting .214 this season, Gomes could have an economical price tag in DraftKings contests when he brings his career .860 OPS against left-handers (.712 vs. righties) into a matchup with southpaw Yohan Flande (lifetime 4.64 ERA). Gomes may also excel late in the game against a Rockies bullpen that ranks last in baseball with a 5.00 ERA.

Ben Revere (Blue Jays): This season, Revere has produced a .736 OPS against right-handers that exceeds his .591 mark vs. lefties. The outfielder could excel against Rangers righty Colby Lewis, who in his career has allowed left-handed hitters such as Revere to post an .816 OPS (.726 OPS allowed to righty batters).

Melky Cabrera (White Sox): With balanced career splits, the outfielder could be poised to contribute when he bats at his hitter-friendly home park against right-hander Rick Porcello (5.81 ERA, 1.44 WHIP in 2015). Cabrera could also succeed against a Red Sox relief corps that ranks 24th in the Majors with a 4.25 ERA.

Adam Eaton (White Sox): From his perch atop the lineup, Eaton may maximize his opportunities to contribute when he brings his lifetime .766 OPS against righties (.683 vs. lefties) into a matchup with Porcello (career 4.45 ERA, 1.37 WHIP). The outfielder has emerged from a slow start to the season to hit .324 since July 25.

Lorenzo Cain (Royals): With 12 homers and 24 steals across 473 plate appearances this season, Cain possesses the diverse skill set that DraftKings owners covet. The outfielder will be in position to succeed when he brings his career .803 OPS against left-handers (.729 vs. righties) into a matchup with Orioles southpaw Wei-Yin Chen (4.34 FIP in 2015).

Andrew McCutchen (Pirates): With a lofty lifetime .327/.414/.567 slash line against left-handers, the outfielder has proven to be among the best in baseball during those matchups. McCutchen has the skills to excel when he faces Marlins southpaw Chris Narveson (career 4.63 ERA, 1.36 WHIP), who has thrown just 22 2/3 Major League innings since the outset of the 2012 season.

Brandon Phillips (Reds): The second baseman has long fared best vs. left-handers, against whom he has posted a career .801 OPS (.719 vs. righties). Phillips will be in position to reach base often at his offense-inducing home park when he faces Dodgers southpaw Brett Anderson (lifetime 1.29 WHIP).

Todd Frazier (Reds): Since the outset of last season, the third baseman has posted an .856 OPS against right-handers (.798 vs. lefties) and an .895 OPS at his hitter-friendly home park (.728 on the road). On Wednesday, Frazier will be poised to thrive when he hits at home against Anderson (1.32 WHIP in 2015).

David Price (Blue Jays): With a season-to-date 2.40 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP, the left-hander continues to be one of the most dominant starters in baseball. Price will be primed to deliver a stellar start when he faces a Rangers lineup that possesses many same-sided batters who have traditionally fared best vs. righties.

Chris Sale (White Sox): The left-hander -- who has posted a 2.87 ERA since the outset of the 2013 season -- has emerged from a brief downturn by posting a 36-to-5 strikeout-to-walk ratio across his past three starts. Sale could compile quality frames when he faces the Red Sox in a seemingly advantageous matchup with Porcello.

Chris Archer (Rays): With a 2.77 ERA, a 1.01 WHIP and a 10.9 K/9 rate in 2015, the right-hander has established himself as a reliable No. 1 starter for DraftKings participants. Archer could spin a gem when he plies his trade at his pitcher-friendly home park against a Twins lineup that ranks 24th in the Majors with a .694 OPS against righties. His quest for success may be enhanced by working in front of a Rays squad that sits third in baseball with a .705 defensive efficiency ratio.

Jake Peavy (Giants): With several premium hurlers on the Wednesday docket, Peavy may meet the needs of DraftKings participants who seek a cost-effective second starter. The right-hander could have an effective start when he works at his pitcher-friendly home park against a Cubs lineup that leads the Majors with 1,133 strikeouts.

All statistics are accurate through the completion of Monday's games.
