Nationals stack up well against Padres

The players listed below could provide difference-making stats for DraftKings participants on Sunday.

Jayson Werth (Nationals): The outfielder has long fared best vs. left-handers, against whom he has posted a lifetime .921 OPS (.794 vs. righties). With a season-to-date .205 batting average, Werth could have a reduced cost in DraftKings contests for a matchup against Marlins southpaw Brad Hand (career 4.37 ERA, 1.36 WHIP).

Ryan Zimmerman (Nationals): As a big leaguer, the first baseman has handled left-handers to the tune of an .891 OPS (.796 vs. righties). Zimmerman could be part of a Nationals stack -- with Werth, second baseman Anthony Rendon and catcher Wilson Ramos -- against Hand (4.23 ERA, 1.28 WHIP in 2015).

Yonder Alonso (Padres): The first baseman will be poised to improve on his lifetime .752 OPS against right-handers (.651 vs. lefties) when he vacates his pitcher-friendly home park and faces righty Jerome Williams (6.13 ERA, 1.66 WHIP in 2015) at offense-inducing Citizens Bank Park. Also of note: Alonso and his teammates will attempt to put balls into play against a Phillies squad that ranks 29th in baseball with a .684 defensive efficiency ratio.

Andrew McCutchen (Pirates): With a lofty lifetime .330/.418/.575 slash line against left-handers, McCutchen has proven to be among the best in baseball during those matchups. The outfielder could be worth a major expenditure in DraftKings contests when he faces southpaw Jorge De La Rosa (career 4.60 ERA, 1.44 WHIP) and a Rockies bullpen that sits last in baseball with a 4.91 ERA.

Starling Marte (Pirates): With 15 homers and 25 steals across 499 plate appearances, the outfielder has been a versatile contributor to DraftKings squads this season. Marte could produce in multiple ways when he brings his career .900 OPS against left-handers (.757 vs. righties) into a matchup with De La Rosa (4.61 ERA, 1.42 WHIP in 2015).

Aramis Ramirez (Pirates): The third baseman has traditionally excelled vs. left-handers, against whom he has registered a career .889 OPS (.817 vs. lefties). Ramirez could be part of a Pirates stack -- along with McCutchen, Marte and catcher Francisco Cervelli -- against De La Rosa. In his career, De La Rosa has allowed right-handed hitters such as Ramirez to post an .795 OPS (.639 OPS allowed to lefty batters).

Ryan Braun (Brewers): With a lifetime .336/.403/.632 slash line against left-handers, the outfielder has proven to wield a potent bat during those matchups. Braun could thrive at his hitter-friendly home park when he faces Reds southpaw John Lamb, who has posted a 6.06 ERA and a 1.65 WHIP across his first three Major League starts.

Jonathan Lucroy (Brewers): The catcher could provide production at a premium position when he puts his lifetime .845 OPS against left-handers (.745 vs. righties) on the line against the inexperienced Lamb at offense-inducing Miller Park.

Prince Fielder (Rangers): The slugger will bring an impressive career .298/.408/.551 slash line against right-handers into a matchup at his hitter-friendly home park against Orioles fly-ball-prone righty Miguel Gonzalez. The right-handed hurler owns a lifetime 1.4 HR/9 rate and a 1.6 mark in that regard this season.

Shin-Soo Choo (Rangers): Choo has produced pronounced career splits, with a .902 OPS against right-handers that exceeds his .671 mark vs. lefties. The outfielder could be poised to drive in multiple runs against Gonzalez, who has struggled this season to the tune of a 4.78 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP.

Mitch Moreland (Rangers): With a career .794 OPS against right-handers in comparison to a .651 mark vs. lefties, the first baseman is a candidate to rip a round-tripper at his offense-inducing home park at the expense of the homer-prone Gonzalez. Moreland could be part of a Rangers stack -- along with Fielder, Choo and outfielder Will Venable -- against Gonzalez.

Joey Votto (Reds): As a big leaguer, the first baseman has used a patient, powerful approach to build an impressive .316/.433/.548 slash line against right-handers. Batting at offense-inducing Miller Park, Votto may be poised to reach base often or drive in multiple runs when he faces Brewers righty Wily Peralta (4.55 ERA, 1.52 WHIP in 2015).

Jay Bruce (Reds): Hitting .131 in August, the outfielder could have a reduced price tag in DraftKings contests when he brings his lifetime .812 OPS against right-handers (.717 vs. lefties) into a matchup with Peralta (career 4.19 FIP, 1.38 WHIP) at Milwaukee's hitter-friendly venue. Also of note: Bruce and his teammates will attempt to put balls into play against a Brewers defense that sits 24th in baseball with a .697 defensive efficiency ratio.

Stephen Strasburg (Nationals): With a 1.51 ERA and a 0.72 WHIP across his past seven starts, the right-hander is back on track after a slow start to the season. Strasburg -- who owns a lifetime 10.3 K/9 rate -- could produce a game-changing point total in DraftKings contests when he works at his pitcher-friendly home park against a Marlins lineup that last in the Majors with a .663 OPS vs. righties.

Lance McCullers (Astros): The rookie right-hander owns a 3.12 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP, and after a brief rest period in the Minors he returned to the rotation and allowed two runs across seven innings on August 23. McCullers could continue his impressive initial campaign when he faces a Twins lineup that is tied for 22nd in the Majors with a .698 OPS vs. righties.

Nathan Eovaldi (Yankees): Across his past 12 starts, the right-hander has produced a 2.93 ERA. Eovaldi will be poised to extend his recent run of success when he works at pitcher-friendly Turner Field against a Braves lineup that ranks 28th in the Majors with a .681 OPS against righties and sits last in baseball with 60 homers versus right-handed pitching.
