Pillar named Honda Player of the Month

Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Kevin Pillar has captured the Honda Player of the Month Award for June, in a vote by the Toronto Chapter of the BBWAA.  Honda, the official vehicle of the Blue Jays, will make a donation to the charity ofKevin's choosing.

Pillar, 26, batted .365 (4th in AL) in June with four doubles, four home runs, 18 RBI (T-10th in AL) and five stolen bases (T-7th in AL). The West Hills, California native raised his average from .223 entering June to .270 upon the completion of the month.  

Others receiving first place votes were LHP Mark Buehrle with a 2-0 record and a 1.75 ERA over five June starts and RHP Marco Estrada who carried no-hitters into the 8th inning in consecutive starts.
