Pink bat delivers big hits for Ramos, Nats
Catcher drives in two runs, including game-winning double vs. Braves
WASHINGTON -- Bryce Harper isn't the only hot hitter on the Nationals. Catcher Wilson Ramos is on a 13-game hitting streak and has raised his batting average to .327.
His biggest hit came during Sunday's 5-4 victory over the Braves at Nationals Park. The score was tied at 4 when Ramos came to the plate in the eighth inning against right-hander Cody Martin and doubled to right field, scoring Ryan Zimmerman.
"He has a knack for driving runs in because he stays in the middle of the diamond and goes the other way so well," manager Matt Williams said. "He just stays on the ball so well. He has been swinging at strikes, being patient enough to get those pitches. He has delivered for us. He is playing well."
With Zimmerman on base, Ramos thought Zimmerman would score all the way from first because of his underrated speed.
"He did it. It's good for me. That was a very important RBI in that situation."
Ramos also drove in Zimmerman with a first-inning single which gave the Nationals a 3-0 lead.

For Ramos, he dedicated the game-winning hit to his daughter and mother on Mother's Day.
"I had my daughter last year and [dedicated the hit to] my mother. It made me very excited," Ramos said.
