New Era Pinstripe Bowl week to kick off this weekend

Boston College and Iowa to showcase their respective universities to NYC

The two participants in the 2017 New Era Pinstripe Bowl, Boston College and the University of Iowa, will hit the streets of New York City over the next several days to take part in New Era Pinstripe Bowl Week activities. Special events, promotions and community outreach will take place throughout the week to once again create an unforgettable experience for fans, families, students and staff.
Scheduled visits to noteworthy New York City landmarks will include One World Observatory, the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, the New York Stock Exchange, Radio City Music Hall, and more.
On Christmas morning, Boston College and Iowa will take in the unique sights of . Later that evening, each institution and their traveling parties will enjoy the acclaimed Radio City Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall.
On Tuesday, December 26, representatives from the New Era Pinstripe Bowl and each institution will ring the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange. Later that day, Boston College will visit the Pediatric Cancer Center at Memorial Sloan Kettering, while Iowa meets and conducts a football clinic with local Bronx youth at Yankee Stadium.
The night will conclude with the celebratory lighting of the Empire State Building in Boston College and Iowa colors.
Throughout the week, each school's traveling party will take part in a variety of activities including ice skating at Central Park, brunch at Tavern on the Green and a welcome reception at the New York Yankees Steakhouse in Manhattan.
The week of events all lead up to a scheduled 5:15 p.m. (EST) kickoff at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday, December 27. Further details regarding bowl week activities that are open to the media will be communicated separately.

Boston College won five of its last six games, finishing the regular season with a 7-5 overall record and a 4-4 mark in the ACC under head coach Steve Addazio. The Eagles will be making their 26th bowl appearance all-time and their second in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl. Addazio has led the Eagles to four bowls in five years becoming the first coach in school history to do so.
Iowa, led by head coach Kirk Ferentz, will be making its 15th bowl appearance in the last 17 seasons. Under Ferentz, the Hawkeyes are 6-8 in bowl games, marking the third-most bowl victories among Big Ten schools since 2001. Ferentz led Iowa to a 7-5 record this year (4-5, Big Ten) and is one win away from tying Hayden Fry as the school's all-time winningest football coach.

Established in 2010, the New Era Pinstripe Bowl has featured some of the most memorable moments in recent college football history.
