Pipeline preview: Bellinger takes hot bat into finale

September 11th, 2016

Here's a look at top prospects to watch Sunday in Minor League action:
Hitter to watch: Cody Bellinger (Dodgers' No. 1), Oklahoma City at Nashville (7:35 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
The Dodgers promoted Bellinger, 21, to Triple-A Oklahoma City ahead of the Pacific Coast League playoffs, and the No. 34 overall prospect responded to the challenge by hitting three home runs in three games. He went yard again on Saturday -- his 27th of the season -- in Oklahoma City's Game 4 win over Nashville, setting the stage for a winner-take-all Game 5 on Sunday night.

Pitcher to watch: Brandon Waddell (Pirates' No. 19), Altoona at Akron (6:05 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
Tyler Eppler was scheduled to pitch in Game 4 of the best-of-five Eastern League semifinals for Double-A Altoona. However, the team decided to have Waddell, a southpaw, start Game 4. Eppler will start on Monday in Game 5 if the Curve can force it with a win Sunday.
