Pipeline preview: Nats' Giolito set to make season debut

April 12th, 2016

Lucas Giolito, MLBPipeline.com's top-ranked pitching prospect, will make his season debut on Tuesday as Double-A Harrisburg takes on Binghamton in a game that can be seen on MiLB.TV at 6:35 p.m. ET.
The Nationals' No. 1 prospect was impressive this spring in big league camp, where he pitched to a 4.05 ERA and struck out nine hitters in 6 2/3 innings across four outings (one start) before being reassigned to Minor League camp on March 23.
Also making their highly anticipated season debuts will be right-handers Zach Eflin and Mark Appel, the Phillies' Nos. 13 and 4 prospects, respectively. Eflin is scheduled to start Game 1 of Triple-A Lehigh Valley's doubleheader against Rochester (5:05 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV), while Appel is slated to pitch the nightcap.
Tuesday's card of Minor League games also features the Triple-A Toledo debut of Tigers No. 1 prospect Michael Fulmer (No. 52 overall), who will take on Pirates No. 17 prospect Steven Brault and the Indianapolis Indians at 6:35 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV.
