Pipeline preview: Giolito looks to continue dominant stretch

June 22nd, 2016

Here's a look at top prospects to watch Wednesday in Minor League action:
Hitter to watch: Aaron Judge (Yankees' No. 2) Scranton-Wilkes/Barre vs. Toledo (7:05 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
Coming off his first career multi-homer game, Judge will look to keep the power display going against Toledo. The No. 27 overall prospect went 4-for-5 on Tuesday and has three homers in his past three games. Judge hit a career-high 20 homers last year, but with 12 in 67 games, he could be on his way to setting a new mark.

Pitcher to watch: Lucas Giolito (Nationals' No. 1), Harrisburg at Portland (7 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
The No. 1 prospect in all of baseball has proven his worth this season and he'll look to continue his recent string of strong results against Portland. Giolito has given up two earned runs or less in 12 of his 13 starts and has a 2.71 ERA through 66 1/3 innings.

Duel of the Day:Tyler Glasnow (Pirates' No. 1) vs. Manny Banuelos (Braves' No. 8) Indianapolis at Gwinnett (7:05 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
Teams have had a tough time scoring with Glasnow on the mound. The No. 8 overall prospect has given up just one earned run over his last 23 innings. Glasnow threw six scoreless, no-hit innings in his last start, but did issue six walks.

Banuelos hasn't been quite as dominant as Glasnow, but he's been close. The 25-year old left-hander allowed one earned run over his last two starts and gave up just one unearned run in four innings in his last start.
