Here's a look at top prospects to watch in Friday's Minor League action:
Mejia streak watch:Indians No. 6 prospect Francisco Mejia aims to extend his 40-game hit streak as Lynchburg faces Winston-Salem at 7:05 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV.
Hitter to watch:Raimel Tapia (Rockies' No. 5), Hartford vs. Harrisburg (Game one of doubleheader at 1:05 p.m. ET)
The No. 88 overall prospect hit his eighth homer of the season and went 2-for-4 on Thursday in what could be the beginning of another hot streak, as he's now 6-for-9 over his past two games. While those numbers are impressive, they shouldn't come as a shock. Tapia has hit over .300 in each of the previous four seasons and is sitting at .331 through 98 games this year.
Pitcher to watch: Sean Reid-Foley (Blue Jays' No. 2), Dunedin vs. Jupiter (6:30 p.m. ET)
Reid-Foley was recently named MLB Pipeline's No. 93 overall prospect, and a quick look at the numbers shows his worth. The 20-year-old has thrown well all season, allowing two earned runs or less in 15 of his 19 starts across two levels. Reid-Foley has taken the ball eight times since he was promoted to Class A Advanced and has gone 5-1 with a 2.03 ERA.
Duel of the Day: Mike Clevinger (Indians' No. 7) vs. Tyler Danish (White Sox No. 14), Columbus vs. Charlotte (7:05 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
Clevinger knows how to win. The 25-year-old is 10-1 with a 3.17 ERA through 16 Triple-A starts this season. Clevinger got roughed up a bit in his last outing, surrendering five earned runs in as many innings, but that looks simply like an outlier in an otherwise productive season.
Danish initially struggled in his first few Triple-A appearances, but he has seemingly figured it out recently. The 21-year-old has given up one earned run in each of his past two starts, allowing 10 hits and striking out 10 in 12 combined innings.
