Pirates and CBS Radio's KDKA-FM Announce Broadcast Agreement Extension

The Pittsburgh Pirates and CBS RADIO's KDKA-FM, SPORTSRADIO 93-7 The Fan announced today the parties have agreed to a multi-year broadcast contract extension.

The Pittsburgh Pirates and CBS RADIO's KDKA-FM, SPORTSRADIO 93-7 The Fan announced today the parties have agreed to a multi-year broadcast contract extension. SPORTSRADIO 93.7 The Fan will continue to be the Pirates flagship station and broadcast a total of 16 Spring Training games, all 162 Pirates regular season games, and all post-season action each year of the agreement.

SPORTSRADIO 93-7 The Fan and the 40 station Pirates Radio Network will once again feature announcers Steve Blass, Greg Brown, Bob Walk and John Wehner calling the action for radio and television throughout the 2016 season, along with the newest broadcast addition, play-by-play man Joe Block.
Brown and Block will handle the play-by-play duties while Blass, Walk and Wehner serve as color analysts. Additionally, the Pirates today announced the complete broadcast schedule for the team's 2016 spring training Grapefruit League games. Fans will have the opportunity to watch or listen to every scheduled date during the Pirates 2016 Grapefruit League season via team official broadcast partners ROOT SPORTS, SPORTSRADIO 93-7 THE FAN, the Pirates Radio Network or webcast on pirates.com. The team's website will carry eight Spring Training audio broadcasts beginning with the Pirates Grapefruit League Home Opener on Wednesday, March 3 vs. the Tigers.
ROOT SPORTS will televise a record 12 Pirates Spring Training games this Grapefruit League season. In addition to 12 Spring Training games, ROOT SPORTS will air exclusive Pirates programming prior to the start of the season such as new episodes of Inside Pirates Baseball, including a spring training special and 2016 Season Preview.
