The Pittsburgh Pirates announced today the details of their promotional schedule and home game times for the 2017 season. The schedule includes 38 promotional dates at PNC Park, highlighted by collectible bobbleheads, fireworks, two FanJam dates, "Kids Days" and more.
The first pitch of the Pirates 2017 Home Opener is planned for 1:05 p.m. on Friday, April 7 vs. the Atlanta Braves. Today the Pirates also announced tentative game times for all games on the complete 2017 home schedule. All updated times and promotional dates are now live on pirates.com/schedule.
The fan promotions will start immediately as all fans in attendance for the 2017 Home Opener at PNC Park will receive a Pirates 2017 magnetic schedule.
The schedule features some unique promotional games such as:
New for fans, the popular Free Shirt promotional games will move from Fridays to nine Saturday dates throughout the season. "Free Shirt Saturdays" start on Saturday, April 22 as the Pirates host the New York Yankees at 4:05 p.m. Tees include special Pirates designs and highlight players, such as fan favorites Andrew McCutchen, Starling Marte, Gregory Polanco and Josh Bell.
Once again, every Sunday home game of the 2017 season will be designated as "Kids Day" at PNC Park. There will be fun and games located outside PNC Park on Federal Street prior to each Sunday afternoon home game and all days will feature a kids 14 and younger special giveaway with paid admission to the game. Some of the promotional highlights include kids batting gloves on April 9; kids baseball glove on May 21; kids beach towel on May 28; kids replica alternate Starling Marte jersey on July 2.
The 2017 promotional items will be on display at PirateFest, presented by Chick-fil-A, being held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center on Saturday, December 10 and Sunday, December 11 for all Pirates fans. Fans will have their first opportunity to secure tickets to their favorite promotional games this Friday as the 412 Pirates Holiday Six-Pack ticket plans will go on sale. Plans will go on sale to the general public at 6 a.m. "Black Friday" (Friday, November 25) at pirates.com/holiday and will be available throughout the holiday season.
