Doubleheader, Faith Night and Zambelli Fireworks Highlights Pirates Ninth Homestand

The Pirates return to PNC Park from a post All-Star break road trip that took them from Cincinnati to Washington, D.C. to Miami in a span of 10 days. This homestand the Pirates welcome the St. Louis Cardinals, Colorado Rockies and Miami Marlins for an 11-game homestand that includes a natural doubleheader with the Cardinals on Tuesday, July 30. This homestand is highlighted by Faith Night on Thursday, August 1; postgame Zambelli fireworks on Saturday, August 3; Kids

Monday, July 29, 2013 vs. Pirates vs. St. Louis Cardinals (7:05 p.m.)

VIP Night: Pirates and Pirates Charities Chairman Bob Nutting will host a VIP (Very Important Pirate) Party for youth from the Pittsburgh Promise. The Pittsburgh Promise is a unique program offered to students attending Pittsburgh City Schools and, among other things, provides them with scholarship money to pursue a higher education. The Promise invigorates the entire community, improves the quality of life in the region, and creates a highly qualified workforce that will meet the needs of local employers, both now and in the future. The group will be special guests of Mr. Nutting and will participate in a career symposium prior to batting practice and watch the game from a PNC Park luxury suite. Mr. Nutting will host a VIP Party each month during the season in order to provide deserving children with a night at the ballpark in true VIP-style - complete with a private meet-and-greet with Pirates players and coaches, a Pirates replica jersey and VIP goodie bag for each child. There will also be an opportunity to participate in a pregame ceremony and enjoy a great ballpark menu items provided by Levy Restaurants.

Tuesday, July 30, 2013 vs. Pirates vs. St. Louis Cardinals (4:05 p.m.) *Doubleheader*

Let's Play Two: The Pirates and Cardinals will play a natural doubleheader today as part of a makeup from the April 16 game that was postponed due to rain. All tickets purchased for today are good for both games as the second game is scheduled to begin approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first. Today marks the first Pirates doubleheader played at PNC Park since April 25, 2012 vs. Colorado.

Ticket Tuesday: Bucs Ticket Tuesday: Today at NOON the Pirate Parrot will be at the PNC Bank in Huntingdon, Pa (8735 Norwin Ave) with 50 pairs of FREE tickets as part of the Pirates "Bucs Ticket Tuesday" social media promotion. The first 50 people to meet the Parrot will receive two free tickets to an upcoming game.

Library Night: Tonight is the 10th annual Library Night at PNC Park. Members from libraries throughout the area will be in attendance as children between the ages of five and 18 entered to win a chance to deliver the lineup card prior to the start of the game or to change a base in the 3rd or 6th inning of the game. Also the library with the most members in attendance will receive a special appearance by a member of the 2013 Pittsburgh Pirates during the month of August.

Pirates Wives in the Community: The Pirates Wives take the opportunity to give back to the community today by cooking dinner for the families staying at The Family House in Neville. Since 1983, the Family House has provided an affordable home away from home for patients and their families seeking medical treatment for serious or lifethreatening illnesses in Pittsburgh.

Wednesday, July 31, 2013 Pirates vs. St. Louis Cardinals (7:05 p.m.)

Wednesday Night Baseball: Tonight the Pirates and Cardinals will take their game to the national stage as the game will be broadcast on ESPN¡¦s Wednesday Night Baseball.

Social Media Night: Join us for a party on the deck tonight as the Pirates host Social Media Night at PNC Park. Junior Pirates Night at PNC Park: Tonight over 2,000 Junior Pirates players and coaches will participate in a group salute. The Junior Pirates players, formally known as Rookie Ball, is a 25-year-old program that is a cooperative effort between Citiparks and the Pittsburgh Pirates to introduce the basics of baseball to youth ages 4 thru 7 through a series of 5 stations. Participants learn fundamentals at 18 sites throughout the city through one of the most successful and prized programs now operated and organized through the BIG League program. All Junior Pirate participants are honored at PNC Park on Junior Pirates Day and given tickets to that day's game, all courtesy of the Pirates.

Faith Night: Join the Pirates for the first Faith Night at PNC Park. Following the game, fans will relocate to sections 101-107 along the first base line to hear their favorite Pirates players and coaches share their personal experiences with how their faith has impacted both their lives and their careers in baseball. Speakers scheduled to appear include manager Clint Hurdle, hitting coach Jay Bell, All-Stars Andrew McCutchen and Mark Melancon, second baseman Neil Walker, catcher Michael McKenry, outfielder Jose Tabata, and pitchers Charlie Morton and Jeanmar Gomez. Friday Block Party: Tonight is another Friday Budweiser Block Party on Federal Street. Fans will enjoy live music featuring The Delany¡¦s and can party on the street with food & beer sales. Pirates alumn Bill Virdon will be the special guest bartender at the Budweiser Bar located on Federal Street.

65 Roses: The Pirates, along with broadcasters Greg Brown and Steve Blass, will host the first 65 Roses Club night of the 2013 baseball season. The 65 Roses Club is a group of Pirates fans who have joined together to raise funds to fight cystic fibrosis. By making a pledge to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for every home run the Pirates hit, these fans have the opportunity to meet Pirates players at private pre-game receptions. After the receptions, everyone can enjoy the game to cheer on the Bucs! The club gets its name from the way a child often learns to say "cystic fibrosis," which sounds like "sixty-five roses." It is a national sports program supported by teams in all areas of athletics, including baseball, football, basketball, hockey and soccer, to help raise funds to fight cystic fibrosis.

Free Shirt Friday: The Pirates popular Free Shirt Friday continues as all fans, with paid admission, will receive a free Pirates tee courtesy of Central Blood Bank.

Saturday, August 3, 2013 Pirates vs. Colorado Rockies (7:05 p.m.)

El Toro in the Community: Pirates All-Star infielder Pedro Alvarez will greet fans and sign autographs from 11 a.m. to noon at the Pine Township Market District. The appearance is presented by TGI Friday's Frozen Snacks.

Postgame Fireworks: Fans are encouraged to stay in their seats immediately following the game and enjoy an amazing fireworks display by Zambelli Fireworks International, presented by First Energy Solutions.

Scratch and Win: Everyone is a winner with the special Scratch ¡¥n Win presented by Eat ¡¥n Park. All fans will receive a scratch-off ticket upon entering PNC Park with an opportunity to win one of several great prizes.

GLSEN Night: Tonight the Pirates have donated 100 tickets to youth and families from the GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network) organization. The Pirates are proud to support LGBT and members of the organization have signed the Team Respect pledge. The Team Respect Challenge is part of Changing the Game: The GLSEN Sports Project, a national program aimed at building safe spaces for LGBT student athletes. The project seeks to make K-12 athletics and physical education safe and inclusive for students of all sexual orientations and gender identities.

Wednesday, August 7, 2013 vs. Miami Marlins (7:05 p.m.)

PLAY: Today at 10 a.m. the Pittsburgh Pirates training staff is hosting a FREE sports educational workshop called PLAY Promoting a Lifetime of Activity for Youth for pre-registered youth athletes ages 11 to 16, at PNC Park. PLAY is a program sponsored by the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society, The Taylor Hooton Foundation, and Major League Baseball Charities. The initiative seeks to capitalize on the unique platform of Major League Baseball and all of its teams and players to help fight steroid abuse and to educate the young people of America about the dangers of steroids, as well as promote a healthy and active lifestyle.

Big League Sports: The Pirates will recognize the City of Pittsburgh¡¦s Big League Sports champions and runnerups in a pregame on-field ceremony. The championship games for Pony, Colt, Super Colt baseball and Slo-Pitch softball were held at PNC Park on Wednesday, July 24 and Thursday, July 25. The Pirates have provided all championship teams & Runner Ups with complimentary with complimentary game tickets

Lady Bucs Club Party: Tonight is the final Lady Bucs Club Party night. Vision and Dental Screenings: Today starting at 11 a.m. the Pirates along with ECCA Managed Vision Care Inc., Highmark, and United Concordia Dental in partnership with Tickets for Kids will host a free vision and dental screening for more than 150 youth in the PNC Picnic Park area. Tickets for Kids is a non-profit organization whose goal is to offer admission to Pittsburgh area events to those for whom cost of admission is prohibitive.

Stand Up 2 Cancer
The Pirates and Pirates Charities will host Stand Up 2 Cancer Night at PNC Park on Friday, August 16 vs. the Arizona Diamondbacks. Ticket packages for the promotion are $40 with $10 from every package sold going directly to the Stand Up 2 Cancer fund. Participants will be seated in the Bleacher Reserved section of PNC Park and at a designated time during the game will have the opportunity to stand up in support of a loved one affected by cancer. Pirates Charities 50/50 Raffles
New for the 2013 season are the Pirates Charities 50/50 Raffles. The 50/50 Raffles will take place during each Pirates home game throughout the season. Raffle ticket prices are three (3) tickets for $5, 10 tickets for $10 and 40 tickets for $20 with all proceeds benefiting Pirates Charities. Raffle ticket sales close after the last out in the sixth inning. The winning number will be drawn and announced in the 8th inning and the winner will receive 50 percent of the total pot. Wins for Kids
During the 2013 season, Pirates Charities is again partnering with manager Clint Hurdle, his wife Karla and ROOT SPORTS to present the Wins for Kids fundraising campaign. The campaign encourages fans to donate a dollar amount for every Pirates win during the season or make a one-time donation to the program. All funds raised will benefit Pirates Charities and the Children¡¦s Institute of Pittsburgh's Prader-Willi Syndrome Program. Pirate Parrot's Poker Run
On Sunday, August 18, the Pirate Parrot invites fellow motorcycle riders to join him for his first-ever "Poker Run" to benefit the Western PA Prostate Cancer Foundation. During the ride, participants will visit four locations around the Pittsburgh area collecting Pirates player cards in an effort to have their "hand" match the Pirates starting lineup for the August 18th game against the Diamondbacks. Dynamic Pricing Section
New for 2013, the Pirates have expanded their dynamic pricing system to include both the Bleacher Reserve and Upper Bleacher Reserve sections of PNC Park. Tickets for the 2,400 seats, located in left field, will be placed on sale 10-days prior to each home game. The initial ticket price will then be adjusted- both lower and higher- in real time, based on several factors. As of July 29, this homestand features Upper Bleacher Reserved tickets for just $10 for the first two games vs. the Miami Marlins on Tuesday, August 6 and Wednesday, August 7.
