Pirates sign free agent Trey Haley

The Pittsburgh Pirates today announced the signing of right-handed pitcher Trey Haley to a one- year contract for the 2016 season.

The Pittsburgh Pirates today announced the signing of right-handed pitcher Trey Haley to a one- year contract for the 2016 season. The announcement was made by Pirates Executive Vice President, General Manager Neal Huntington.
The 25-year-old Haley spent the 2015 season in the Cleveland organization and went 4-4 with one save, a 2.45 ERA (55.0ip/15er) and 60 strikeouts in 43 relief appearances between Double-A Akron and Triple-A Columbus.
Haley was Cleveland's second selection in the 2008 First-Year Player Draft and has gone 20-30 with 12 saves and a 4.76 ERA in 205 appearances (49 starts) during his eight-year minor league career. He was tabbed by Baseball America as having the "Best Fastball" in the Indians farm system prior to 2014.
