It was a special night for Nick Pivetta.
Making his 14th start of the season for Double-A Reading, Pivetta, the Phillies' No. 18 prospect, fired nine scoreless innings to record his first career shutout. He scattered seven hits, walked three and struck out five while also recording eight ground-ball outs and another eight outs on fly balls. All together, Pivetta threw a season-high 117 pitches (76 strikes) to lead the Fightin Phils past Harrisburg, 4-0.
Pivetta had been pitching increasingly well leading up to Friday's gem, with one earned run allowed in 12 innings across his previous two starts. Overall, the 23-year-old right-hander, whom the Phillies acquired from Washington for Jonathan Papelbon at last year's Trade Deadline, is having a strong showing in his return to the Eastern League, where he's pitched to 3.27 ERA across 82 2/3 innings while holding opposing hitters to a .226 average.

• No. 8 overall prospectTyler Glasnow fired six no-hit innings for Triple-A Indianapolis, who was shut out by Charlotte, 4-0. The Pirates' No. 1 prospect struck out six but also walked six in the outing, with only 51 of his 97 pitches going for strikes. He's leading the International League with 92 strikeouts in 77 innings, during which he's registered a 1.75 ERA.

• No. 22 overall prospect Bradley Zimmer (Indians' No. 1) reached base five times in Double-A Akron's win over New Hampshire, finishing 2-for-2 with three walks. He also stole three bases in the game, giving him 24 in 61 games on the season.
• No. 61 overall prospect Braden Shipley tossed eight innings of one-run ball to pace Triple-A Reno to a 5-1 win against Albuquerque. The D-backs' No. 1 prospect allowed one earned run on five hits in the outing, striking out three. The 24-year-old right-hander has been a workhorse this season, logging 82 1/3 innings across 13 starts while average 6 1/3 frames per outing. Leading the Aces' offense was Socrates Brito (D-backs' No. 2), who went 4-for-5 with two doubles in what was his third four-hit game of the season.

• No. 84 overall prospect Hunter Renfroe's three-run homer in the third inning wasn't enough to keep Triple-A El Paso from falling to Sacramento in 11 innings. The Padres' No. 3 prospect has now gone deep 15 times in 64 games, while his 56 RBIs are good for a second-place tie in the Pacific Coast League. On top of that, he's collected hits in six straight games for El Paso, during which he's hitting .433 (13-for-30).
• In the first game of a double dip between Class A Kane County and Clinton, D-backs No. 3 prospect Alex Young tossed a one-hit shutout to lead the Cougars to a 1-0 win. The 2015 second-rounder, making just his ninth career start, issued three walks and struck out four in the seven-inning gem, which he needed just 81 minutes and 91 pitches to complete.
• Making his 2016 debut for Class A Short Season Lowell, Red Sox No. 5 prospect Michael Kopech scattered four hits over 4 1/3 scoreless innings. The 20-year-old right-hander -- who got a late start to the season after he suffered a broken right hand during an altercation with a teammate in early March -- walked four and struck out four en route to throwing 78 pitches (42 strikes).
• Astros No. 16 prospect Franklin Perez fired five strong innings in Class A Quad Cities' 14-inning loss against Cedar Rapids. The 18-year-old righty allowed one earned run on five hits and matched his season high with six strikeouts, giving him 27 punchouts in 26 2/3 innings to go along with a 2.36 ERA.
• Giants No. 17 prospectKyle Crick turned in one of his better performances in recent memory as he completed seven innings for the first time since Aug. 29, 2013, when he was pitching for Class A Advanced San Jose. He allowed one earned run on five hits while striking out five, with 63 of his 96 pitches going for strikes. More significantly, the hard-throwing righty allowed no walks for the second time in his past four starts.
• Reds No. 18 prospect Antonio Santillan was sharp in his 2016 debut as he struck out eight batters over 4 2/3 innings in Rookie-level Billings' win against Missoula. The 2015 second-rounder surrendered one earned run on three hits and a walk.
• Rangers No. 20 prospect Travis Demeritte hit a pair of solo homers in Class A Advanced High Desert's rout of Stockton. It was the fourth multi-homer game of the season for the 21-year-old second baseman, who's pacing the California League with 18 home runs.
• In a rehab outing for Class A Short Season Tri-City, Astros No. 29 prospectAkeem Bostick tossed six innings of two-hit ball as the ValleyCats blew out Connecticut, 13-1. The 6-foot-6 righty carried a no-hit bid into the fourth inning before allowing a leadoff single.
