This weekend, the Phillies will take on the defending World Series champions, the Chicago Cubs, in a three-game series (August 25-27) at Citizens Bank Park. Below are the top five things to know.

  1. Phillies major leaguers take part in Players Weekend - a new event featuring youth-inspired jerseys - starting Friday.

Phillies players will let their personalities and passions shine during Major League Baseball's #PlayersWeekend, starting Friday, August 25, to Sunday, August 27.

Players will be wearing jerseys featuring their nicknames as well as wearing and using uniquely colored and designed equipment. In addition, players will have the option of wearing t-shirts highlighting a charity or cause of their choice during pregame workouts and postgame interviews.

Also, the right sleeve of each player's jersey will feature a patch with a blank space for him to write the name of a person or organization that was instrumental to his development and thank those who are important in his life. The patch features a new logo that shows a progression of five players increasing in size to demonstrate the process of a player's path from Little League and youth leagues to Major League Baseball.

The specially-designed Players Weekend jerseys, caps, socks and t-shirts will be available in a limited quantity for fans to purchase at the Majestic Clubhouse Store and on the Phillies.com Shop.
