Pollock proposes during trip to Australia

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- A.J. Pollock made good use of his free time while the team was in Sydney last week.

The D-backs outfielder proposed to his girlfriend, Kate, while at the Bondi Beach cliff walk.

"She's from Australia," Pollock said. "So I thought this trip was a good time to do it."

The pair met when they were students at the University of Notre Dame, where Pollock played baseball and Kate was a member of the lacrosse team.
