Rollins Family Foundation to host star-studded charity gala

Inaugural "Havana Nights" marks foundation's second fundraising event

Today, the 2007 National League MVP, Jimmy Rollins and his wife Johari, formally announced they will be hosting their first ever "Havana Nights" charity event on Monday, November 14 at the National Constitution Center. Red carpet arrivals begin at 6:45 p.m. with the event taking place from 7:00-10:00 p.m.

The Rollins Family Foundation has partnered with locally based, Cuba Libre Restaurant and Rum Bar to host this red carpet, Cuban-themed fundraising event that will benefit Prevent Child Abuse Pennsylvania. "Havana Nights" is a culinary experience, highlighting specialty dishes from Cuba Libre restaurant paired with rum and mojitos provided by Bacardi, beer from Hatuey, premium wine varietals from One Hope Wine as well as cigars from La Aurora.

"We've been blessed with the success of our baseBOWL tournament over the last few years and thought it would be fun to add a second event with a bit of flavor to it," said Jimmy Rollins.

"Prevent Child Abuse Pennsylvania is a cause that Jimmy and I have been talking about for quite awhile, " said Johari Rollins. "To put on a brand new event that will raise awareness and benefit such a worthy organization is very exciting for both of us and we're looking forward to a fun filled evening."

World-renowned salsa band, Star Quest, will be providing the music for the evening with a live performance. Dancing and other Caribbean-themed activities will also be taking place throughout the event.

A few notable celebrities already confirmed to attend are Phillies players, Cole Hamels, Raul Ibanez, Kyle Kendrick, Manager Charlie Manuel, boxing light heavyweight champ Bernard Hopkins, Philadelphia Eagles players Winston Justice and Brandon Graham, Good Day anchor Mike Jerrick, as well as several other former athletes and local media personalities.
