2021 Cardinals Care Winter Warm-Up to go virtual

50/50 raffle tickets on sale November 27th; annual Cardinals Caravan trips canceled

November 23rd, 2020

ST. LOUIS, Mo., November 23, 2020 – Cardinals Care, the charitable foundation of the St. Louis Cardinals, has announced that the 25th annual Winter Warm-Up will go virtual due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The largest fundraising effort organized by Cardinals Care, the 2021 Winter Warm-Up will take place virtually January 16 – 18, 2021. All proceeds raised from the event will support kids in the community. The annual Cardinals Caravan, which typically takes place in conjunction with the Winter Warm-Up, has been canceled for 2021.

“We are disappointed that we had to cancel the in-person events of the annual Winter Warm-Up and Cardinals Caravan, but we are excited that we are still able to deliver some fun and interactive online experiences, while keeping the health and safety of our fans, volunteers, players, and employees our top priority,” said Michael Hall, Executive Director of Cardinals Care and Vice President of Community Relations.  “The COVID-19 pandemic hasn’t canceled our mission of supporting children in our community, so we’re shifting the event to an online format where fans can safely get autographed items from their favorite players and alumni, win raffles, bid on exclusive auction items, hear from front office leadership and interact with their favorite Cardinals.”

Cardinals Care will launch the 2021 Winter Warm-Up 50/50 raffle on Friday, November 27, starting at 9:00 AM CT. A limited number of 2021 Winter Warm-Up 50/50 Raffle Ticket packages that include 250 raffle tickets and a randomly selected Cardinals 8X10 authenticated autographed action photo signed by a current or former player, manager or coach will be available for $75 until sold out. Fans who purchase tickets early will be entered into a bonus raffle for as many as three items, including a Tyler O’Neill Autographed Team Issued Home Jersey (tickets purchased by 12/4/20 at 9:00 AM CT), a $250 Cardinals Cash Gift Card (tickets purchased by 12/18/20 at 9:00 AM CT), and a Jack Flaherty Autographed Team Issued Batting Practice Cap (tickets purchased by 1/8/21 at 9:00 AM CT). Tickets cost $5 for 3 raffle tickets, $10 for 10, and $20 for 60. The winner of the cash prize raffle is guaranteed to win a minimum of $5,000. The raffle will close on Monday, January 18 at 3:00 PM CT.

Starting Friday, December 4, fans can pre-order autographed baseballs and 8x10 action photos that will be personalized by select players including Paul Goldschmidt, Tyler O’Neill, Tommy Edman, and many more. The deadline to purchase personalized baseballs and photos is Thursday, December 24, 2020 at 11:59 PM CT. A limited number of these items are available, so fans are encouraged to purchase early. Non-personalized autographed baseballs will also be available for purchase. Fans can visit cardinals.com/wwu for the complete list of autograph item availability and delivery schedule.

The 2021 Cardinals Care Winter Warm-Up Silent Auctions will be held on January 16 and January 17 from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM CT, and January 18 from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM CT. The silent auctions will feature a variety of autographed items and special experiences, some featuring current and former players. A list of all silent auction items will be available the week before the auctions go live.

The Cardinals Caravan program, which annually takes players and alumni to over 20 cities across Cardinals Nation in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee and Arkansas, has been canceled with hopes to return in 2022. In place of the normal Caravan programs, outer-market fans are encouraged to participate in the virtual Winter Warm-up activities.

More details about interactive online opportunities with current and former players, as well as team leadership will be announced next month. Fans can visit cardinals.com/wwu and follow @CardinalsCare on Twitter for the latest details.
