Prince needs boost in All-Star support

ARLINGTON -- Prince Fielder is still running a distant third among American League first basemen on the 2015 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot in the latest voting update released Monday.

Fielder has received 2,391,736 votes while Miguel Cabrera of the Tigers has moved into first place with 9,342,149 votes. Eric Hosmer of the Royals has 8,013,745 votes.

Fielder is hitting .340, third highest in the AL, with 11 home runs and 47 RBIs. He is 10th in the league with a .521 slugging percentage and third with a .408 on-base percentage.

Adrian Beltre, who is on the disabled list with a sprained left thumb, is fifth among third basemen.

Fans can cast their votes for starters at and all 30 club sites -- on their computers, tablets and smartphones -- using the 2015 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot until Thursday, July 2, at 10:59 p.m. CT. For the first time, voting is exclusively online, where fans may submit up to 35 ballots.
