The latest edition of MLBPipeline.com's Prospect Team of the Week, for the week of June 6-12, is highlighted by none other than No. 1 overall prospect Lucas Giolito, who, in one of the better starts of his young career, struck out a career-high 12 hitters over seven innings on Friday for Double-A Harrisburg.
After a slow start to his season, Giolito, 21, has been dominant in his past seven starts for Harrisburg, going 5-0 with a 1.48 ERA and 45 strikeouts in 42 2/3 innings. Meanwhile, he's given up just 30 hits in that span -- only one of which has left the park -- while holding opposing hitters to a paltry .195/.269/.260 slash line.

C: Francisco Mejia, Indians (No. 8 prospect)
6 G, .520/.538/1.040, 8 R, 1 2B, 4 HR, 11 RBIs, 1 BB, 1 IBB, 5 K
Mejia earns for PTOW honors for a second time this season after he led all catchers in most offensive categories while hitting safely in each of his six games for Class A Lake County. The 20-year-old backstop went deep four times in that span, giving him five on the season, and he hit safely in each of his six games to extend his hitting streak to 14 games.
1B: Rhys Hoskins, Phillies (No. 19 prospect)
7 G, .467/.515/.967, 6 R, 3 2B, 4 HR, 10 RBIs, 2 BB, 8 K
Hoskins, 23, paced all first basemen with 14 hits as he tallied multiple hits in five of his seven games for Double-A Reading. The 2014 fifth-rounder connected on four home runs in that span to improve his season total to 16 through 59 games, leaving him one long ball short of matching the career-best 17 homers he hit last season in 135 games between both Class A levels.

2B: Willie Calhoun, Dodgers (No. 15 prospect)
7 G, .360/.407/.960, 6 R, 3 2B, 4 HR, 6 RBIs, 1 BB, 4 K
Calhoun opened last week with his first multihomer game of the season and then secured PTOW honors by going deep in back-to-back games for Tulsa over the weekend. In total, seven of the 21-year-old's nine hits went for extra bases. He's hitting .271/.339/.511 with 12 homers and 40 RBIs through 60 games in his first full campaign as a professional.

3B: Kelvin Gutierrez, Nationals (No. 26 prospect)
5 G, .381/.391/.714, 6 R, 2 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR, 4 RBIs, 1 BB, 2 K
Gutierrez turned in three multihit efforts in his five games last week for Class A Hagerstown, one of which saw him finish a single short of hitting for the cycle. The 21-year-old first baseman is having an impressive full-season debut for the Suns, with a .303/.342/.419 batting line through 59 games.
SS: Ryan Mountcastle, Orioles (No. 6 prospect)
7 G, .469/.528/.813, 7 R, 5 2B, 2 HR, 5 RBIs, 4 BB, 6 K
The 2015 first-rounder began last week by going 5-for-6 with a home run for Class A Delmarva, and he never slowed down as he ultimately paced all shortstops with 15 hits and seven extra-base hits while batting a robust .469 with a 1.340 OPS over seven contests.
OF: Jaycob Brugman, A's (No. 21 prospect)

Brugman's bat was a big reason that Triple-A Nashville went 5-2 in seven games last week, as the 24-year-old left-handed hitter paced all outfielders in hits (14), doubles, RBIs and total bases (27). He's been on a tear since moving up to the Minors' highest level, where he's hit .333/.358/.586 with 14 doubles and 25 RBIs in his first 22 contests.

OF: Daniel Palka, Twins (No. 28 prospect)
7 G, .345/.375/.931, 9 R, 1 2B, 2 3B, 4 HR, 10 RBIs, 2 BB, 11 K
Although Palka hit just .345 and struck out in 11 of his 32 plate appearances for Double-A Chattanooga, he finished the week strong by hitting four home runs over his final four games. Acquired from the Twins last November, Palka, 24, is hitting .341/.415/1.068 with nine home runs and 19 RBIs through 12 games in June, while his 16 home runs currently lead the Southern League.

OF: Brandon Nimmo, Mets (No. 4 prospect)
4 G, .550/.571/1.150, 5 R, 1 2B, 1 3B, 3 HR, 7 RBIs, 1 BB, 2 K
Nimmo tallied multiple hits in each of his four games and finished the week with three consecutive three-hit performances for Triple-A Las Vegas. He hit three of his five home runs for the season in that span, highlighted by his first career multihomer game on Thursday.

LHP: Josh Taylor, Diamondbacks (No. 25 prospect)
1-0, 0.00 ERA, 1 GS, 7 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 13 K, 0.86 WHIP
Taylor matched his career high with 13 strikeouts on Friday in Class A Advanced Visalia's win over Lancaster. The 24-year-old southpaw didn't allow an earned run this season for the first time in 10 starts (12 games) en route to tossing a season-high seven innings.
RHP: Lucas Giolito (No. 1 prospect)
1-0, 0.00 ERA, 1 GS, 7 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 12 K, 0.71 WHIP
Giolito was nothing short of dominant on Friday in his best start of the season for Double-A Harrisburg as fanned exactly half of the hitters he faced behind 19 swinging strikes, matching his season high. He allowed just four hits (all singles) over seven innings while throwing 65 of his 100 pitches for strikes in the contest.
