Pudge Inducted Into Rangers Hall of Fame

Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez was inducted into the Rangers Hall of Fame on Saturday prior to the start of the Rangers-Orioles game in Arlington, Texas. He will be the 16th member of the club, which also includes Nolan Ryan, Charlie Hough and Johnny Oates.

Pudge made his major league debut with the Rangers when he was only 19 years old. Since then he ended up as a 14-time All-Star and won 13 Gold Glove Awards.

I remember going to Rangers games while in elementary school and being awed whenever Pudge was at-bat or made an amazing defensive play. He’s a true hero to my generation. I can only hope that this induction is a sign for things to come in Cooperstown.
