Rain forces doubleheader on Wednesday

DENVER -- The Dodgers-Rockies game Tuesday was postponed due to rain with a split doubleheader planned for Wednesday.
Wednesday's 1:10 p.m. MT game will stay as planned, and a makeup game will be played at 6:10 p.m. with gates opening at 5 p.m.
Rain started to fall minutes before the expected 6:40 p.m. start to the game, and the players were called off the field before a pitch was thrown. The game was officially postponed 2 1/2 hours later.
, who was scheduled to start for the Rockies on Tuesday, will pitch the first game on Wednesday, while rookie will start the second game.
Dodgers rookie will still pitch in the 1:10 p.m. game, as scheduled, while , who was slated to pitch Tuesday, will start the late game.
Anderson started warming up on the field before the game was called. He tried to stay warm during the rain delay by riding a bike and playing catch every 15 to 20 minutes. Rockies manager Walt Weiss said he will not be limited Wednesday, despite throwing more than usual the day before a start.
"It would be like he threw a side today," Weiss said.
Tickets to Tuesday's game will only be valid for the 6:10 p.m. game. Exchanges for Tuesday's game may be made for any game throughout the remainder of the season.
