ARLINGTON -- The Rangers announced after their 5-3 win over the Astros on Thursday afternoon that third baseman Adrian Beltre sustained a mild left hamstring sprain in Wednesday's game and is considered day to day.
He'll travel with the team to Seattle as the Rangers begin a three-game series against the Mariners on Friday, and a stint on the disabled list is not expected.
Beltre left Wednesday's game after the hamstring tightened up on him while running the bases in the eighth inning. He missed his first game of the season Thursday in what was already a scheduled day off for him. Jurickson Profar started at third in his place.
Rangers manager Jeff Banister had not met with the team's medical staff prior to his postgame news conference. The team will continue to re-evaluate Beltre's hamstring over the next few days.
"I'll get with our trainers and Adrian and map out what the plan is for [him]," Banister said. "He had energy in the dugout [Thursday] and came to me and asked me if he was going to pinch-hit, and I told him no. "
Right-hander Yu Darvish reported feeling fine after playing catch before Thursday's win. He left his start Wednesday night -- only his third since returning from Tommy John surgery -- after the fifth inning for precautionary reasons after feeling neck and right shoulder stiffness. He is expected to throw a bullpen before Friday's game.

"Nobody has ringed any alarm bells on me that anything other than the information we had last night is the information we had last night," Banister said.
After Wednesday's game, Darvish indicated he could take his next turn in the rotation. While that decision has not yet been made, Banister sees that as reason for optimism.
"Much better than him going, 'Oh no,'" Banister said. "These guys are confident. When they start saying things like that, I'm sure they're feeling pretty good."
