Texas Rangers and Champion Windows and Patio Join Forces to Raise Money for Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation

Rangers to announce partnership and host youngsters from Lena Pope Home for Texas Rangers Summer Academy

The Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation will host the Summer Academy for children from the Lena Pope Home and announce its new partnership, “Champions of Hope” with Champion Windows and Patio on Wednesday, June 20 at 11:00 a.m. in the Kids Zone at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

This season Rangers fans and Champion customers who mention Champions of Hope will have ten percent of their purchase, up to two hundred dollars, donated to the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation.

Wednesday morning Former Rangers pitcher Mike Jeffcoat, Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation Executive Director, Karin Morris, and Champion Window and Patio District Manager, Tony Gurney will be on hand to discuss the partnership and welcome youngsters from the Summer Academy during their visit to Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.  The Summer Academy is one of the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation programs that will benefit from the Champions of Hope partnership between the two organizations.

Summer Academy campers will begin their day by playing in the Rangers new indoor Kids Zone, followed by an etiquette lunch in the Diamond Club. The day will conclude with a special behind- the- scenes tour at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

The purpose of the Summer Academy is to give children the opportunity to continue learning during the summer months and gain new experiences by participating in a week-long summer camp that includes various activities. The Summer Academy was started 12 years ago in partnership with the Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Foundation to work with children from the Lena Pope Home every summer. More than 150 children participate each summer.

On September 28, Champion Windows and Patio will present a check to the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation for all money raised. For more information about Champions of Hope please call 1-888-4Champion.

Media wishing to attend the event should park in Lot B and enter the Ballpark through the Centerfield entrance to access the Kids Zone.
