RHP Mark Lowe Agrees To Terms on 2012 Contract

Six players remain eligible for salary arbitration

Arlington, Texas – The Texas Rangers announced this morning that right-handed pitcher Mark Lowe has agreed to terms on a one-year contract for the 2012 season. No further terms were disclosed.

With Lowe’s agreement, six unsigned Rangers remain eligible for salary arbitration: pitchers Mike Adams and Matt Harrison, catcher Mike Napoli, infielder Elvis Andrus, and outfielders Nelson Cruz and David Murphy.

Lowe was 2-3 with a 3.80 ERA and one save in 52 appearances with Texas in 2011 as he spent all but two weeks of the season in the majors. He placed third on the club in appearances while recording 42 strikeouts in 45.0 innings. Lowe allowed just six of 32 inherited runners to score (18.8%), the ninth best percentage among A.L. relievers.

Acquired from Seattle in July 2010, Lowe is 7-18, 4.03 in 217 career appearances with Seattle and Texas.
