HOUSTON -- Rangers outfielder Carlos Beltrán exited Saturday's 3-2 win against the Astros with a left quad contusion after being thrown out at home plate in the top of the seventh inning.
The Rangers don't think it's serious. Beltran had an RBI single to give the Rangers a 2-1 lead, then was thrown out trying to score on a double by Rougned Odor.
"It was an awkward slide," Rangers manager Jeff Banister said. "I think he is going to be OK. We'll check him in the morning."
Banister said they considered pinch-running for Beltran in that situation with Delino DeShields but decided against it.
"Where we were in the game and the number of outs, his at-bat was going to come up again," Banister said. "I didn't want to take that bat out of the lineup."

Beltran started in right field. It was his first start in the outfield since being acquired from the Yankees on Monday. His previous four games had been at designated hitter.
DeShields replaced Beltran, going into left field while Nomar Mazara went to right.
