Rangers claim lefty Rollins off waivers

ARLINGTON -- The Rangers have claimed left-handed pitcher off waivers from the Phillies, the club announced on Wednesday.
This is the fourth time Rollins has been claimed off waivers this offseason and the second time by the Rangers.

Rollins was with the Mariners this past season, pitching in 11 games with a 7.71 ERA. He appeared in 37 games at Triple-A Tacoma with a 3.77 ERA, two saves and a 0.99 WHIP.
Rollins was claimed off waivers by the Cubs on Nov. 18 and by the Rangers on Nov. 22. The Phillies claimed him from the Rangers on Dec. 2, and now he is back with Texas.
The Rangers made room for Rollins on the 40-man roster by designating pitcher for assignment. Jenkins was acquired with left-handed pitcher from the Braves for reliever on Dec. 8.
Rollins, who turned 27 on Wednesday, is a native of East Texas who played high school baseball at the First Baptist Academy of Carthage and Dallas. He also pitched at San Jacinto College.
