ARLINGTON -- Elvis Andrus may not have known the exact numbers, but he knew A's right-hander Liam Hendriks has been tough on him over the years.
Andrus still wasn't worried when Hendriks came into pitch during a pivotal moment of the Rangers' 6-5 win on Saturday at Globe Life Park. The Rangers imperturbable shortstop was actually looking forward to it, despite being 0-for-12 against Hendriks in his career.
"I have a good memory, but he throws fastballs, and I like fastballs," Andrus said. "I like that matchup. Anybody who throws fastballs, I like that matchup, especially knowing he is aggressive."
The Rangers trailed, 4-2, in the seventh but had the bases loaded with one out. Hendriks threw five straight fastballs, and Andrus, on a 2-2 count, smacked a ground ball through the left side to tie the game.
"I just looked for my pitch and put a good swing on it," Andrus said.
Nomar Mazara followed with a two-run double to finish off a rally and carry the Rangers to their fifth straight win. It was their third straight win with a four-run rally coming in the seventh inning or later.
"It's always good when you see guys like that having a really, really good at-bat to keep the momentum going," Mazara said. "You know when someone gets on base now, hey, good things are going to happen. So that's what we're trying to do right now, just keep the lineup moving, try to have really good at-bats, because we all trust [in each other]."

The rally started with a one-out walk by Joey Gallo off right-hander Ryan Dull. Delino DeShields singled up the middle and Shin-Soo Choo drew a walk to load the bases.
That's when A's manager Bob Melvin brought in Hendriks to face Andrus.
"Liam's a guy who's had a lot of success [against] Andrus," Melvin said. "I didn't want to get there to that situation, and usually with Ryan, we don't, but we had to."
Rangers manager Jeff Banister said there were a number of great at-bats by his team during the four-run frame.
"I thought one of the biggest at-bats in that inning was by Gallo," Banister said. "Being down in the count, and he didn't chase. We weren't putting those at-bats together in those situations before. But we had professional at-bats, quality at-bats that inning, the ability to put some pressure on the opposing pitcher."
