Odor, Gallo dealing with injuries

ARLINGTON -- Rangers first baseman Joey Gallo left Wednesday's 8-2 win vs. the Red Sox in the fifth inning with continued soreness in his left hamstring, and Rougned Odor exited in the seventh with a bruised left wrist.

Odor was hit on the wrist by a pitch thrown by Red Sox reliever Robby Scott in the fifth. Odor, who hit a two-run homer in the second, wasn't happy about it, slapping his bat to the ground in frustration. X-rays taken were negative and Odor was left with a contusion.

As for Gallo, it was the same hamstring that bothered him in New York and forced him to miss the final two games of a weekend series against the Yankees. He has been undergoing treatment since then and will undergo further examination.

Gallo was replaced by Pete Kozma at first base. This was only the fifth time that Kozma had played first base in his career and the fourth with the Rangers this season. He dropped a two-out throw from Jurickson Profar in the sixth that allowed Dustin Pedroia to reach on a routine grounder. Xander Bogaerts followed with a two-run home run for the first hit off Andrew Cashner.

Kozma moved over to second base when Odor left the game in the seventh inning. Jonathan Lucroy moved from catcher to first base and Robinson Chirinos went behind the plate.
