ARLINGTON -- The Rangers hit four home runs, including two by Mike Napoli, and they pounded the Mariners, 10-4, on Saturday afternoon at Globe Life Park. Three of the home runs came in a five-run sixth inning as the Rangers won for the seventh time in their last eight games.
This was the third time this season the Rangers have hit four home runs in a game and the first since hitting five against the Astros on May 2. The Rangers had gone 32 straight games hitting two or fewer, the third longest such streak in the Majors this season.

"This is what we are capable of and hopefully going forward that will be the case," Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre said. "We believe in these guys. We've got a lineup that's completely healthy and we know what we are capable of doing."

The Mariners had just one home run, a three-run shot by Mike Zunino in the sixth. It was his sixth home run, along with 21 RBIs in his last 13 games. The home run went 463 feet, the longest by a Mariner this season.

Martin Perez picked up the victory for the Rangers, allowing four runs in 5 1/3 innings. It was just his third win of the season and first since May 18.

Mariners pitcher Yovani Gallardo fell to 3-7 with a 6.30 ERA by allowing five runs in five innings. All five runs came across in the first inning and Gallardo is now 1-4 with a 9.00 ERA in his last six starts. The Mariners have lost seven of their last 10 games.
"It's frustrating," said Gallardo. "I have to figure out how to stay away from that. It's always that one inning. I have to find a way to put guys away when I have two strikes."
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Rangers deliver two-out hits: The Rangers entered the game hitting .232 with two outs, the fourth-lowest mark in the American League. But they had five straight two-out hits in the first inning, capped by Napoli's two-run home run, to take a 5-0 lead. It was Napoli's first homer since May 24.
"Guys were taking what Gallardo was giving them," Rangers manager Jeff Banister said. "We know Yo, but you still have to execute and our guys did a great job. The tack-on runs were huge, competitive at-bats from our guys up and down the lineup,"

Odor, Napoli, Choo strike back: Zunino's home run cut the Rangers lead to 5-4 in the top of the sixth. But the Rangers struck back right away against reliever Dan Altavilla. Rougned Odor, who had a first-inning double, led off with his 12th home run of the season. Carlos Gomez was then hit by a pitch and Napoli followed with a two-run home run. After Joey Gallo reached on an error, Shin-Soo Choo smashed a two-run home run to center.
"It was tough with the days off, but there's no excuse. I've been throwing some bullpens in between. Some days they get you and today they did." said Altavilla, who had allowed just one run over his previous nine innings, but hadn't pitched in six days.

Choo's home run was estimated at 440 feet, his longest since Statcast™ started measuring in 2015. But Napoli's second home run beat him by two feet. That 442-foot home run was his third longest of the year.
Seattle has been outscored 50-23 over the past five games, while Mariners pitchers are 1-4 with a 10.53 ERA and opposing batters have hit .374 with 10 doubles and 17 home runs.

Mariners: Right-hander Christian Bergman pitches for the Mariners in the 12:05 p.m. PT series finale Sunday at Globe Life Park. He will be trying to snap his own two-game losing streak. He made one relief appearance against the Rangers this season and allowed one run in 3 1/3 innings on May 7.
Rangers: Right-hander Yu Darvish pitches against the Mariners at 2:05 p.m. CT on Sunday. Darvish is 5-2 with a 2.94 ERA in his last 10 starts. He is 5-3 with a 4.13 ERA in 11 career starts against the Mariners and all five wins have come in Arlington.
