Rangers need ASG ballot-box boost

June 20th, 2017

ARLINGTON -- The Rangers continue to be shut out in the voting for a spot in the American League starting lineup for the 2017 MLB All-Star Game presented by MasterCard.
The Rangers again do not have a catcher or an infielder in the top five or an outfielder in the top 15, as revealed in the latest results of the Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot on Tuesday.
The Rangers are looking at the possibility of one of their position players not going to the All-Star Game for the first time since 1988, when they were represented by pitcher Jeff Russell. The most obvious candidates worthy of at least consideration are shortstop and outfielder .
