Rangers Purchase Contract of LHP Ryan Feierabend from Round Rock, Option LHP Aaron Poreda to Round Rock

OF Jim Adduci assigned to Frisco on rehab; OF Engel Beltre removed from rehab assignment

Arlington, Texas - The Texas Rangers announced prior to tonight's game that the club has purchased the contract of left-handed pitcher Ryan Feierabend (#68 - pronounced FEAR-ah-bend) from Triple-A Round Rock and optioned left-handed pitcher Aaron Poreda to Round Rock.

Feierabend, 28, will be looking to make his Texas debut and first major league appearance since an outing with Seattle on September 23, 2008 vs. Los Angeles-AL. A non-roster invitee to major league spring training, he has gone 8-5 with a 4.54 ERA (57 ER/113.0 IP) over 19 starts with Triple-A Round Rock this season. The southpaw ranks 2nd in the Pacific Coast League in innings and leads the Express in both wins and strikeouts. Feierabend originally joined the organization as minor league free agent prior to the 2013 campaign and went a combined 7-7 with a 3.70 (61 ER/148.1 IP) in 29 games/21 starts with Frisco (AA) and Round Rock (AAA). The Cleveland native was originally selected by Seattle in the 3rd round of the 2003 June draft and reached the majors with Seattle as a 20-year-old in 2006.

Poreda has gone 2-1 with a 5.91 ERA (14 ER/21.1 IP) in 26 relief appearances over three stints with the Rangers this season (April 29-May 28, June 5, and June 17-July 11).

With the addition of Feierabend, the Rangers now have a full 40-man roster.

ADDUCI AND E. BELTRE REHAB TRANSACTIONS: Outfielder Jim Adduci is scheduled to begin an injury rehabilitation assignment with Double-A Frisco tonight vs. Corpus Christi. Adduci has been on the disabled list since April 19 with a fractured left little finger. While on a rehab assignment in early June, Adduci re-injured the finger and hasn't played since a game on June 7 with Round Rock.

Additionally, outfielder Engel Beltre has been removed from his injury rehabilitation assignment with Double-A Frisco and he remains on the 60-day disabled list, where he began the season with a fractured right tibia.
