Rangers jump-start '18 slate vs. rival Astros

Opening Day on March 29; Texas to play NL West in Interleague Play

ARLINGTON -- The Rangers will open the 2018 season at home against the Astros on Thursday, March 29, according to their schedule released Tuesday.
The four-game series will be the third straight season the Rangers have opened at home and the eighth time in 10 years. The March 29 date is the earliest for Opening Day in club history.
Rangers' 2018 regular-season schedule
The Rangers Interleague schedule calls for visits from the Rockies on June 15-17, Padres on June 25-27, the D-backs on Aug. 14-15 and the Dodgers on Aug. 28-29. The Rangers will play at the Dodgers on June 12-13, the D-backs on July 30-31, the Giants on Aug. 24-26 and Padres on Sept. 14-16.
The Red Sox come to Arlington on May 3-6 and the Yankees are here on May 21-23. The Rangers will again have 19 games against their four American League West opponents: Astros, Athletics, Mariners and Angels.
The 2018 home schedule also features four-game series with the Orioles, Red Sox, and Royals. The Rangers will be at home on Independence Day, Wednesday, July 4, against Houston and Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 3 vs. the Angels.
