Rangers release righty reliever Bard from Class A

OAKLAND -- The Daniel Bard experiment has ended for the Rangers. The right-hander has been released from Class A Hickory.

The former Red Sox reliever was trying to come back from shoulder surgery, but he could never conquer his command issues. In four games at Hickory, Bard walked nine and hit seven batters.

Bard appeared in 211 big league games with the Red Sox from 2009-13, with a record of 10-19 and a 3.67 ERA.
