Texas Rangers Special Events scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday games versus Los Angeles Angels

Autism Awareness Night is April 14; Jackie Robinson Day is April 15

Arlington, Texas--The Texas Rangers have several special events scheduled for this week's series with the Los Angeles Angels.

The Angels and Rangers are scheduled to play 7:05 p.m. games tonight and Tuesday and a 1:05 p.m. contest on Wednesday to conclude the season's first homestand.

The club will host Autism Awareness Night on Tuesday, April 14. Major League Baseball and all 30 MLB Clubs are once again conducting a league-wide effort during the 2015 Championship Season to raise awareness for autism, the fastest growing serious developmental disorder. The initiative is again linked with Autism Speaks, the world's leading autism science and advocacy organization. April is National Autism Awareness Month.

On Tuesday the ceremonial first pitch participants will be Barron McClure and his mother, WFAA-TV Good Morning Texas host Carrie McClure. The Rangers will also have a designated "Quiet Zone" available for guests and families who purchased tickets for the Autism Awareness Night. Autism Speaks will be distributing information on the third base concourse near the Texas Rangers Foundation kiosk.

Wednesday, April 15 will be Jackie Robinson Day in Major League Baseball, commemorating the 68th anniversary of the Brooklyn Dodgers Hall of Famer breaking Baseball's color barrier in 1947. For the seventh consecutive year, all players and on-field personnel will wear Robinson's number 42, which was retired by Major League Baseball in 1997.

There will be a pre-game field recognition of the United Negro College Fund and representatives from Texas College, Jarvis Christian College, and Huston-Tillotson University. Texas State District 109 Representative Helen Giddings will throw out the ceremonial first pitch, and the National Anthem will be sung by Kenya Crawford of the First St. John Cathedral in Fort Worth.

Wednesday will also be the first Dollar Hot Dog Day of 2015.

Tickets for the Angels series can be purchased at texasrangers.com, by calling 972RANGERS, or at the Globe Life Park in Arlington first base box office.
